Summary: Infectious diseases and human behavior are closely linked, with the outbreak of COVID-19 leading to significant behavioral changes. Non-pharmaceutical interventions have played a key role in combating the virus, prompting various societal processes to adapt. The availability of data describing behavioral changes induced by the pandemic has increased dramatically, providing opportunities for future research and challenges.

Summary: The study found that residents in Poland had higher levels of stress compared to those in Italy, with a higher prevalence of chronic diseases among Polish respondents. Italian subjects were more concerned about their health and future employment, and they were less compliant with suggested restrictions compared to Polish subjects. Differences in adherence to restrictions between Polish and Italian residents suggest that implementing similar lockdown policies worldwide may not be as beneficial as expected.

Summary: The study indicates that early implementation of strong non-pharmaceutical interventions can reduce COVID-19 morbidity and mortality. The time elapsed between epidemic origin and intervention is associated with epidemic severity and explains part of the variance in reported deaths. Delay in implementing interventions resulted in more severe epidemics.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the incidence and predictors of weight gain during the COVID-19 quarantine period. A survey was conducted five months after the implementation of social distancing measures. The results showed that a majority of participants had gained weight during the pandemic, and the predictors of weight gain included increased food intake, snacking, fast food consumption, decreased physical activity, and changes in eating behavior. The findings highlight the importance of implementing measures during future quarantine periods to prevent weight gain.

Summary: This paper proposes a conceptual model for the COVID-19 pandemic, using real data and solving linear least square problems to obtain parameters that are updated in real-time. The system behavior is modeled according to the changes in parameters, and the impact of social distancing and quarantine on severe infection and hospitalization numbers is studied.

Summary: Since the outbreak of COVID-19, contamination of cold-chain food by the pathogenic SARS-CoV-2 has become a major concern. Strengthening the supervision of SARS-CoV-2 in cold-chain foods is a top priority in many countries. This article analyzes the potential safety risks and precaution measures of SARS-CoV-2 contamination in cold-chain food. It also summarizes the advances in detection strategies and emphasizes the urgent need for a field-based quarantine technique for cold-chain food.
