Summary: The value of cultural heritage is a debated issue in heritage theory, with the focus shifting from tangible to intangible qualities. Evaluating the intangible values of specific artefacts with politically disturbing associations, like Soviet architecture, can be complicated. This paper uses a Lithuanian case study to analyze the value of Soviet architecture as cultural references, suggesting that dissonance should not result in uncompromising delisting and destruction of troubled past heritage.

Summary: This article discusses the innovative practice of built heritage conservation in the Kano metropolis, aiming to detect deterioration and incorporate traditional wisdom and contemporary innovation. Qualitative research was adopted, using spatial analysis methods and focus group discussions. The findings reveal that deterioration is mainly due to decaying plaster and paint, moist walls, deformed openings, sagging roofs, wall cracks, roof leakages, exit spouts, stains, and corrosion. Conservation efforts primarily rely on documentation and treatment interventions, without implementing diagnostic methods.

Summary: Traditional buildings are a comprehensive reflection of history, art, and architectural features, while also serving as a carrier of folk culture, traditional skills, and regional aesthetic tastes. This paper focuses on studying traditional buildings and arts in three regions of Jiangxi Province: northern Jiangxi, southern Jiangxi, and central Jiangxi. Influence by its geographical location and neighboring provinces, traditional buildings in Jiangxi display various architectural styles, such as Huizhou culture in northern Jiangxi, Hakka culture in southern Jiangxi, and local characteristics in central Jiangxi. The relative underdevelopment of Jiangxi's economy has resulted in a restrained, simple, and practical artistic style for local architecture.
