Summary: Developing a powerful bifunctional catalyst is crucial for achieving future carbon neutrality by reducing energy consumption in the chemical industry. This study synthesizes mesoporous zeolite-encapsulated palladium nanoparticles (Pd@meso-ZSM-5) using emulsification-demulsification and dry-gel transformation methods, which exhibit remarkable catalytic performance in the one-pot multiple tandem reaction of cyclic ketones to bicyclic alkanes. Unlike traditional two-step synthesis routes, Pd@meso-ZSM-5 efficiently produces bicyclic alkanes instead of monocyclic alkanes, due to the sufficient space for large molecular intermediates provided by mesoporosity and the promoting effect of the acid-Pd interface on intermediate conversion.

Summary: The Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) was conducted using bifunctional model catalysts prepared by physically mixing precipitated iron-based FTS catalysts (P-Fe) and H-ZSM-5. The acidity of the model catalysts was adjusted by varying the ratio of P-Fe/H-ZSM-5 and the Si/Al ratio in H-ZSM-5. The physical mixing of H-ZSM-5 provided Br phi nsted acid sites (BAS) to the bifunctional catalysts without affecting the catalytic activity of P-Fe. The study revealed a linear correlation between the cracking rate and BAS concentration in the bifunctional FTS process for the first time.

Summary: Ru-Co/Al2O3 and Ru-Fe/Al2O3 catalysts prepared by reduction-deposition method exhibit high activity in Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis, showing different conversion rates and product selectivity. The interaction between Ru and Co in Ru-Co/Al2O3 enhances the activity, while Ru-Fe/Al2O3 displays superior initial performance but declines over time, with less enriched products compared to Ru/Al2O3.

Summary: In this study, Co/ZSM-5 mesoporous catalysts with different acidity and Co loadings were prepared using mesoporous ZSM-5 as support. The results showed that the Si/Al ratio in ZSM-5 affected the surface acidity and cobalt oxide reducibility. Under optimal reaction conditions, the 10 wt% Co/ZSM-5 catalyst exhibited high biodiesel selectivity. This can be attributed to the presence of acid sites, a balanced B/L ratio, and the high reducibility of Co3O4 nanoparticles.

The atomic catalyst (Fe-SAC) with Fe-N5 as the active center was constructed, effectively activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS), peroxydisulfate (PDS), and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The study demonstrates the degradation efficiencies of acyclovir are related to the O-O bond length in different peroxy compounds, and reveals the discriminative mechanisms for activation of O-O bond in different Fenton-like systems.
