Summary: This paper examines the economic and ethical consequences of different credit market regulations, including usury laws, complete prohibition of interest, and bankruptcy laws. It shows that act-based regulations are more effective in deterring lenders, but may also lead to inequity and societal risk. The choice of implementing credit market regulations may depend on the regulator's ethical commitment towards growth and reduction of inequity.

Summary: This paper critically reflects on the methodological and ethical issues in qualitative research on domestic abuse, and provides implications for ethical, practical, and methodological approaches by synthesizing existing research models. Drawing on research and front-line experience, the paper explores four critical areas: power, participation, payment, and platform. The findings reveal the lack of transparency in current practices, the perpetuation of marginalization in studies on lived experience of domestic violence and abuse, inconsistent participant payment, and the challenges of including perpetrators in research.

Summary: This study aims to develop a sustainable smart manufacturing model by reducing waste and controlling pollution in the production system. Two different production models are proposed to decrease pollution levels, and an application experiment is conducted with three pollution control mechanisms. The results show that the model with variable pollution costs is more sustainable.

Summary: Genomic research on neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), particularly involving minors, poses significant ethical challenges, including issues related to research design and ethics review, inclusion of research participants, and communication of research results. The potential benefits of research participation for NDD children include access to genetic testing and diagnostic information, while the risks include privacy concerns and psychological impacts associated with learning genetic information about NDD. Collaborating with NDD communities, tailoring informed consent procedures, and using an ethics checklist can help researchers anticipate and address these ethical issues.

Summary: Overfishing is a major impact on the marine environment, and multiple-use Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are seen as a useful tool for conservation and sustainable resource exploitation. However, ensuring effective protection on the ground is challenging, as demonstrated by the analysis of a sea urchin fishery in an Italian MPA. The study reveals that non-compliance with regulations by stakeholders is a key factor in the unsustainable management of the fishery, leading to a decline in sea urchin populations and the prevalence of illegal fishing activities.
