Summary: Psychological interventions are effective for reducing depressive symptoms in young adults, but their efficacy is comparable to other interventions in the mild-to-moderate range. Moderators such as depression severity or therapist involvement significantly influence the efficacy of psychological treatments, encouraging clinicians to adopt flexible and personalized approaches.

Summary: This survey study found that individuals with moderate or greater depressive symptoms were more likely to believe vaccine-related misinformation. These individuals were less willing to get vaccinated and more likely to express vaccine resistance. The presence of depression was also associated with an increase in endorsement of misinformation in a subsequent survey.

Summary: This study used longitudinal data to examine the effect of neighborhood recreation facilities on the trajectory of depressive symptoms among Chinese older adults. The results showed that community fitness facilities had a significant effect on depressive symptoms in older adults, and a supportive community fitness environment could effectively slow down the rate of increase in depressive symptoms. In subgroup analysis, fitness facilities were an important predictor for the youngest-old group, and outdoor activity space was a protective predictor for the oldest-old group's depressive symptoms.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between the intake of different types of dietary fats and depressive symptoms in Italian individuals living in the Mediterranean area. The results showed a negative association between moderate intake of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and depressive symptoms, while moderate intake of saturated fatty acids (SFA) was positively associated with depressive symptoms. Moreover, individuals with lower to moderate intake of short-chain and medium-chain saturated fatty acids had a lower risk of depressive symptoms. These findings highlight the importance of distinguishing between different fat types.

Summary: This study examined the relationships between social capital, perceived neighborhood environment, and depressive symptoms among older adults in rural China, and found that cognitive social capital and structural social capital were associated with depressive symptoms. Satisfaction with healthcare was significantly related to depressive symptoms among those with poor self-rated health, while satisfaction with security and transportation were strongly associated with depressive symptoms among those with good self-rated health. The findings highlighted the importance of social capital and neighborhood environment as potential protective factors for depressive symptoms in later life.

Summary: This study used Graph Isomorphism Network (GIN) to predict individual treatment response in adolescents and young adults with major depressive episode (MDE). The most discriminating brain regions were identified and found to be mainly involved in paralimbic and subcortical areas. The results suggest the potential of GIN in predicting treatment response and the importance of targeted interventions in these specific brain regions for personalized treatment decisions.

Summary: This study aims to evaluate how a coach-enhanced digital cognitive behavioral intervention (dCBI) improves usual care for depressed adolescents and young adults in paediatric practices with minority enriched samples. A total of 750 participants aged 16-22 will be recruited and randomized to receive 12 weeks of dCBI+usual treatment or usual treatment alone. The primary outcome is improvement in clinician-rated and self-reported depressive severity, and the secondary outcomes include self-reported suicidal ideation, anxiety severity, general quality of life, and general functioning. The study results will be published within 2 years and disseminated through peer-reviewed journals, professional conferences, and reports to participating entities and stakeholders.

Summary: Huntington's disease (HD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by motor abnormalities, cognitive decline, and neuropsychiatric disturbances. Depression is common in HD, but the short-term dynamics of mood and its relationship with depression in HD have not been studied. This study found that depression severity was associated with average mood across 28 days, but not with day-to-day mood variability or inertia. It also revealed that female HD carriers experienced more day-to-day mood variability compared to males.

Summary: Exposure to daily stressors specific to the COVID-19 pandemic is associated with emotional distress, heightened stress reactivity, and increased depressive symptomology. Current depressive symptomology may moderate the association between COVID-19-related daily stressor exposure and negative affective reactivity, particularly in young adults.

Summary: The Innovation City projects in South Korea aimed to decentralize population and economic functions from the Seoul metropolitan area to provinces for balanced national development. The study found that the impact of these projects on established metropolitan areas may not be significant, with most regions experiencing a rise in centrality values, especially in connectivity. However, the increase in traffic volume in Innovation Cities led to a decline in centrality in surrounding areas, suggesting the need for these cities to pursue co-prosperity with their neighboring regions.

Summary: The study found that slum residents in Ho Chi Minh City prefer in-situ upgrading or 'site-and-service' relocation, while residents with property ownership prefer cash compensation and self-relocation. The findings of this study can help facilitate sustainable redevelopment of slums in Vietnam, emphasizing the importance of considering resettlement options other than cash compensation.
