Summary: Existing facial attractiveness analysis mainly focuses on geometric features such as ratios and distances, which are incomplete for representing all the face information. This paper introduces angle features to describe the angle of different facial components, enhancing the performance of the analysis. Additionally, the chaotic and inefficient use of geometric features in existing landmark models is addressed by proposing a common feature set and a special landmark model.

Summary: This study examined the effects of facial skin homogeneity on facial attractiveness perception and facial change detection. The results showed that an increase in facial skin homogeneity led to an increase in perceived facial attractiveness and sensitivity to facial changes. Additionally, participants were able to judge a face as prettier than before without consciously realizing that it had physically changed.

Summary: In the context of positioning an agent with a single-anchor, this study focuses on the Fisher information provided by single-bounce reflections. The study takes into account prior knowledge of the agent's environment, showing that reflections offer position information in a direction parallel to the reflecting surface.

Summary: This paper investigates the role of 3D face geometry in facial beauty perception and extracts corresponding geometric features for analysis. The experimental results demonstrate that 3D geometric features capture facial geometry better than 2D features and the exclusive features have advantages in characterizing facial attractiveness.

Summary: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with bothersome symptoms, but recent advances in molecular-targeted therapies have shown promising clinical effects in treating severe symptoms and related skin diseases. Biomarkers such as cytokines, chemokines play a crucial role in defining therapeutic strategies, and blood protein markers show great potential in daily clinical practice.

Summary: Facial colour characteristics play a significant role in conveying personal information and influencing social interactions and mate choices. However, cultural differences exist in how facial colour is perceived, with Chinese observers relying more on colour and lightness cues compared to Caucasian observers.

Summary: This study used artificial intelligence to estimate facial femininity in wild mandrills, and found that less feminine females were more likely to be approached, aggressed, and copulated with, suggesting a positive valuation of masculinity attributes. This research contributes to understanding the role of femininity in animal sociality and provides a framework for non-invasive research on visual communication in behavioral ecology.

Summary: Attractiveness is a universal cue to overall biological quality, but local and same-ethnicity raters may be more accurate in assessing attractiveness cues. This study found considerable cross-cultural agreement in perceived attractiveness and facial shape ratings among Vietnamese and Czech raters, but Czech raters associated attractiveness with facial shape averageness significantly more than Vietnamese raters.

Summary: The pilot study identified a diverse range of Corynebacterium species on human skin, including previously unreported species. The study revealed individual variations in biochemical and resistance profiles among the strains. This highlights the importance of cultivation-based studies in understanding the properties of these microorganisms.

Summary: Stress is a normal reaction of the human organism triggered in situations that require activation, with both positive and negative effects on everyone's life. Stress management is crucial for maintaining psychological balance. Thermal-based imaging technique, due to its non-contact nature, has shown promising results in stress detection.

Summary: In order to engineer skin-like replacements for facial prostheses, it is important to understand the differences between facial skin properties and prosthetic materials. This study measured six viscoelastic properties in both facial skin and prosthetic elastomers, and found significant differences in stiffness, absorbed energy, and viscous creep. These findings provide valuable information for designing future facial tissue replacements.

Summary: Mosquito-borne diseases pose a major threat to global health, and eradicating them through vector control methods remains challenging. The speed at which mosquitoes bite humans is a key factor in disease transmission, while biological factors such as body odor, genetics, and parasite infection influence mosquitoes' attractiveness to humans. Addressing these issues will help improve current tools and drive the development of future interventions.

Summary: Studies show that people form their first impression of a stranger based on facial appearance, and these impressions affect their subsequent decisions and behaviors. This study examines the factors that influence the accuracy of first impressions based on facial photos, specifically focusing on gender differences. The findings reveal that people judge female attractiveness more accurately and male wealth more accurately. Interestingly, there is a moderate correlation between confidence ratings and accuracy of attractiveness ratings for female participants evaluating male faces. This study is the first to uncover gender biases in the accuracy of impression judgments based on facial appearance, highlighting the significant impact of traditional gender roles.

Summary: The study showed that facial radiance plays a significant role in enhancing facial attractiveness and conveying positive impressions. The position of reflection on the face also influences attractiveness and overall impressions. Cheek radiance and T-zone radiance contribute to higher attractiveness and positive impressions of the radiance on entire faces.
