Summary: This article introduces a dual-polarized and high-gain shared-aperture antenna operating in X- and Ka-bands, achieved by combining a folded transmitarray antenna and a Fabry-Perot cavity antenna. The shared aperture serves as both a phase-shifting surface and a partially reflective surface, resulting in 100% aperture reuse efficiency. The use of dual-polarized patch antennas allows for polarization flexibility, with simulated results confirming the antenna's performance.

Summary: This paper presents a preliminary design of a conformal subarray antenna for circularly polarized synthetic aperture radar (CP-SAR) to be mounted on UAV, aiming to overcome space limitations and signal attenuation issues caused by fuselage material. The antenna, which uses a 920 mm radius osculating circle to bend along the fuselage curvature, has shown excellent performance characteristics in simulation. Current efforts are focused on the fabrication and validation of the antenna.

Summary: The study presents a novel planar phased array design that utilizes restricted antenna size, interelement spacing, and truncated walls to achieve elevation beam steering and asymmetric amplitude distribution in azimuth at L-band. The manufactured prototype demonstrates nearly 20% antenna bandwidth, polarization isolation over 23 dB, and directivity values exceeding 15 dB. Despite the close proximity among array elements, the coupling levels between feeding ports are below -20 dB, making the design suitable for applications requiring high integration like airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar systems.

Summary: This paper introduces a circularly polarized shared aperture antenna consisting of an S-band patch antenna array and a K-band transmitarray antenna. The high-frequency transmitarray feed and the low-frequency patch antenna array share the same aperture area. The antenna achieves impressive impedance bandwidth and peak realized gain in both S-band and K-band, with good beamforming performance in the low-frequency antenna mode.

Summary: This study establishes a vulnerability index to climate change based on the VSD framework, finding that climate change vulnerability in China has decreased over time, with the western region more vulnerable than the eastern region. Driving factors include forest coverage, the urban-rural income gap, and information technology.

Summary: A 1-D wide-angle beam-scanning linear phased array using dielectric slab superstrate (DSS) to enhance gain is presented. The DSS is optimized to meet the requirements of beam widths in both scanning and orthogonal planes, leading to 3.5 dB gain enhancement in the scanning range and low side-lobe levels.

Summary: This article proposes a single-sideband time-modulated phased array (STMPA) design with low sideband level (SBL) for wide-bandwidth signals. The design utilizes time-modulated pulses with stepped waveforms to improve STMPA performance. The optimization of waveforms is discussed, considering practical restrictions. The proposed design achieves low SBLs and reduces aliasing effects for wideband signals.

Summary: The fixed linear-polarized conical beam transmitarray is superior to the radially linear-polarized conical beam antenna in certain applications. This paper presents a method to obtain conical beams with fixed linear polarization (FLP) and circular polarization (CP) using a pencil beam source to illuminate a transmitarray. The transmitarray elements are distributed on rings for good circumferential symmetry, and the dimensions of the double-ring elements are adjusted to compensate for the phase delay. Three different cone angles of the FLP conical beam transmitarray are designed and fabricated. The simulated and measured results show good agreement, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Summary: This article presents a reconfigurable reflectarray antenna (RRA) combined with hyperuniform disordered distribution, which reduces the number of elements but still maintains a similar radiation pattern as a periodic array. The reflectarray also avoids the need for a complicated feeding network design. Designing an RRA with fewer elements is particularly important for achieving beam scanning.

Summary: This article proposes a new broadband circularly polarized (CP) antenna using an open-ended waveguide. By adjusting the amplitude and phase of the orthogonal fields with two stubs at different positions of the open-ended waveguide, both a single element and a four-element array are presented. Reasonable agreement is observed between the measured and simulated results. The antenna element has a wide overlapping impedance bandwidth of 50% and a 3 dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 50%, covering 24-40 GHz, making it a promising candidate for wideband applications. The measured realized gains at 28 and 38 GHz are 6.7 and 6.9 dBic for an element and 12.3 and 13.9 dBic for an array, respectively.

Summary: This paper introduces a Ku-band passive time-varying phase shifter (TVPS) that utilizes a time-varying vector-sum method for continuous phase shifting. The implementation of the TVPS consists of a quadrature coupler, two 0/180 degrees biphase modulators, and an output combiner. Experimental results show that the TVPS can achieve a phase resolution of 10-bits, with an RMS phase error of 0.2 to 0.5 degrees and an RMS gain error of less than 0.2 dB over the 12 to 18 GHz frequency band.

Summary: This article proposes a calibration technique for single-sideband time-modulated phased arrays (STMPAs) by modifying the time-modulating waveforms to improve the frequency spectrum. The calibration method eliminates the negative effects of fabrication and assembly errors, and provides a high degree of freedom for the time modulator in STMPAs.

Summary: This paper proposes a wideband circularly polarized (CP) antenna element using substrate integrated waveguide technology at millimeter-wave (mmW) frequencies. The proposed CP element consists of a vertical metallic tapered slot antenna (TSA) and a horizontal printed dipole. Through a parametric analysis, the effects of the metallic TSA on far-field radiation fields were investigated. A fabricated and measured CP element showed reasonable agreement with simulated results, demonstrating its potential for mmW wireless applications due to its low-profile feeding structure, wideband characteristics, and ease of integration.
