Summary: We propose a dual circularly polarized (CP) substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity-backed antenna with wide axial ratio (AR) beamwidth, which can generate the right-hand CP (RHCP) or left-hand CP (LHCP) radiation through exciting different ports. The antenna achieves a good performance of 3 dB AR beamwidth of 165 degrees in the desired azimuth cut plane. Furthermore, an eight-element dual CP linear phased array with a wide-angle beam scanning ability is comprised by this antenna prototype.

Summary: A kind of all-dielectric circularly polarised (CP) loop antenna made of high-permittivity material is proposed, utilizing the leaky-wave radiation from a high-permittivity dielectric waveguide. The antenna consists of a non-closed dielectric loop connected with the dielectric ground via one bending end and a vertically bent end for probe feed. Two materials, zirconia ceramic and pure water, are used to implement the proposed design.

Summary: This paper presents a novel multi-layer beamforming antenna array based on Fabry-Perot resonator that is excited by a high-performance compact 4 x 4 Butler matrix using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology for X-band application. The adapted ring patch antenna is fed through the aperture on a rectangular SIW cavity and forms the radiating element in the antenna array. Enhanced characteristics of the antenna array are realized by inserting an electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure between the radiating elements and a superstrate constituted from two complementary frequency selective surfaces (FSS) that forms a Fabry-Perot resonator (FPR). Circular polarization in the proposed FPR SIW antenna array (FPRSAA) is achieved by using a combination of sequential phase rotation and orthogonal feeding techniques. Measured results of antenna array (Ant. II) show |S11| <= -10 dB between 8-12.0 GHz, a circular polarization (CP) gain variation between 15.64-18.54 dBic, 3 dB axial-ratio between 8.5-11 GHz, and scanning angle covering -47 to 47 degrees.

Summary: A wideband circularly polarized (CP) planar U-shaped antenna array is proposed for millimeter-wave (mm-wave) applications. The antenna element consists of two tilted parasitic U-shaped patches fed by a slot etched on a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW), achieving an improved simulated axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 40%. The proposed antenna array, based on the CP element, multiple SIW cavities, and a 16-way SIW feeding network, demonstrates excellent performance and a novel structure, making it a promising candidate for mm-wave wireless systems.

Summary: This letter investigates a 1 x 3 microstrip patch (MP) filtenna array with low sidelobe level fed by a TE410-mode substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity. The filtenna array is able to achieve a low sidelobe level by obtaining a binomial power distribution, facilitated by the magnetic field amplitude at the adjacent region of the two central quasi-TE110 modes of the TE410-mode SIW cavity. A filtenna array prototype centered at 13.2 GHz is designed, fabricated, and measured, showing good agreement between the simulation and measurement results with a peak gain of 11.6 dBi and a maximum efficiency of 85%.

Summary: This paper presents a compact transmission line decoupling and matching network for three-element circular arrays. Due to the miniaturization of wireless terminals, the antenna spacing becomes too close, resulting in large couplings and degraded system performance. The proposed network consists of an impedance transformation section and a star-shaped neutralization section, effectively eliminating couplings between antennas while occupying a smaller area. Experimental results demonstrate an increase in port isolation from 7.6 dB to 33.5 dB and a reduction in equivalent coupling coefficient from 0.11 to 0.011, validating the effectiveness of the proposed method.
