Bidirectional circularly-polarised loop linear array fed by slotted SIW

A novel multilayer bidirectional linear array with the same sense circularly polarised (CP) radiation patterns are proposed. The CP resonant unit consists of a pair of loops and two square patches added on their opposite corners. With a feeding slotted substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) sandwiched between two back-to-back mirror rotated resonant units, a radiating element is designed, and same sense bidirectional CP waves are generated. Along the longitude direction, the radiating elements are arranged alternately from the centre line of the slotted SIW. Then, an 8-element linear array with uniform distribution is designed. Identical right-hand CP waves are achieved in both front and back directions. The array is fabricated, and measured results are in good agreement with simulated ones.

Dual-Linearly Polarized Leaky-Wave Patch Array With Low Cross-Polarization Levels Using Symmetrical Spoof Surface Plasmon Polariton Lines

Summary: A dual-linearly polarized leaky-wave antenna with low cross-polarization levels is proposed in this paper. The structures of M-couplings and E-couplings are successfully separated, resulting in high purity H-pol waves radiation. Additionally, a dual-LP LWA with frequency-controlled scanning beams and suppressed cross-polarization levels is designed and tested to exhibit scanning from backward to forward with cross-polarization levels less than -30 dB in the scanning plane across the whole band.

A Low-Profile Dual-Circularly Polarized Wide-Axial-Ratio-Beamwidth Slot Patch Antenna With Six-Port Feeding Network

Summary: A low-profile dual-circularly polarized (CP) substrate integrated waveguide (SIW)-cavity-backed slot patch antenna with wide axial ratio beamwidths (ARBWs) is proposed in this paper. By etching two orthogonal slots on a square patch and backing a SIW cavity under the patch, the ARBWs are enhanced. A novel six-port feeding network is designed for high isolations in the dual-CP antenna.

Hemispheric Conformal Wide Beamwidth Circularly Polarized Antenna Based on Two Pairs of Curved Orthogonal Dipoles in Space

Summary: A circularly polarized antenna with wide axial-ratio beamwidth and half-power beamwidth is designed by arranging two curved patch dipole pairs orthogonally in a cruciform contour conforming with a hemispheric shell, resulting in improved impedance bandwidth and reduced size. The prototype achieves good performance within the frequency range of 1.06-1.89 GHz.

Compact-Transmission-Line Decoupling and Matching Network of Three-Element Array for Wireless Applications

Summary: This paper presents a compact transmission line decoupling and matching network for three-element circular arrays. Due to the miniaturization of wireless terminals, the antenna spacing becomes too close, resulting in large couplings and degraded system performance. The proposed network consists of an impedance transformation section and a star-shaped neutralization section, effectively eliminating couplings between antennas while occupying a smaller area. Experimental results demonstrate an increase in port isolation from 7.6 dB to 33.5 dB and a reduction in equivalent coupling coefficient from 0.11 to 0.011, validating the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Decoupling of Isosceles Triangular Array by Loaded Parasitic Element in Combination With Decoupling and Matching Network

Summary: A hybrid decoupling technique combining loaded parasitic elements and a decoupling and matching network is proposed in this paper to decouple a compact isosceles triangular array, achieving independent matching and decoupling of the vertex and base elements. By introducing a reactively loaded parasitic element and a simpler DMN, the system performance is effectively improved and explicit formulas are derived for systematic and straightforward design.

A low-profile antenna with circularly polarized reconfigurable and omnidirectional radiation patterns

Summary: A low profile circularly polarized antenna with reconfigurable polarization is presented, capable of switching between LHCP and RHCP. By manipulating the bias voltage, the antenna's polarization state can be switched, while exhibiting similar patterns to a dipole antenna but with a smaller size. The measured 3-dB AR and 10-dB return loss bandwidths are suitable for the ISM band, making it well-suited for medical diagnosis systems.
