Metal halide perovskites have seen unprecedented success in photovoltaics and optoelectronics, leading to a surge of interest in their applications in sensing fields. This review summarizes the various sensing applications of metal halide perovskites, such as photoluminescence, photoelectrochemistry, electrochemiluminescence, and chemiresistance-based sensing, and discusses the remaining challenges and future prospects for their development in sensing applications.
The unprecedented success of metal halide perovskites (MHPs) in photovoltaics and optoelectronics has caused a perovskite fever, which also accelerates the development of MHPs in sensing fields. However, an overview of MHPs in sensing applications is still absent. This review summarizes the sensing applications of MHPs covering photoluminescence, photoelectrochemistry, electrochemiluminescence, and chemiresistance based sensing. Finally, remaining challenges and perspectives are discussed to promote the future development of MHPs related sensing applications. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
