Summary: The majority of systematic reviews exhibit differences in study eligibility criteria, with many changes occurring in at least two key components, yet these changes are rarely explained. Results show that outcomes have the highest variation, while comparators have the lowest. Authors, the PROSPERO platform, peer-review journals, and reviewers should work towards improving transparency.

Summary: The current schizophrenia construct has strengths in improving diagnosis reliability and communication among clinicians, but has weaknesses in recognizing the heterogeneous nature of the disorder and lacking core aspects. It is associated with poor outcomes, stigma, and derogatory connotation. Clinicians and researchers should complement the diagnosis with in-depth characterization and consider a new and more precise taxonomy of psychotic disorders.

Summary: The arthroscopic management of FAI is evolving, with a focus on individualized treatment and the importance of femoroplasty. Optimal acetabuloplasty in cases of mixed impingement remains unclear. In selected cases, isolated acetabular rim resection may be considered without cam treatment.

Summary: Permanent transseptal left bundle branch area pacing is a promising technique to avoid pacing-induced dyssynchrony with right ventricular pacing. However, it may cause lesions to tributary veins of the coronary sinus and lead to venous complications.

Summary: Animal welfare assessments that measure welfare outcomes, such as behavior and health, can be complex and time-consuming. This study explored the feasibility of improving welfare outcome assessments for dairy herds by rationalizing the number of measures included. While weak to moderate correlations were found between measures, a composite measure was identified through Principal Component Analysis, but even the best predictors could only classify around 50% of farms accurately. Further research is recommended to better understand the diverse measures needed for detailed dairy herd welfare assessments.

Summary: This study analyzed the usage of AMSTAR and AMSTAR 2 in articles published from 2018 to 2020 and explored the reasons and barriers for not using AMSTAR 2. The results showed that even though AMSTAR 2 is an updated version, 44% of the authors still used the old version. However, the use of AMSTAR has been declining over the years.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the impact of preoperative stoma site marking on stoma-related complications in patients with intestinal ostomy. The findings suggest that preoperative site marking can reduce complications and improve quality of life, but the evidence quality is low and further research is needed for confirmation.

Summary: This study analyzed the compliance of researchers with their data availability statements (DAS) in manuscripts published in open-access journals. The results suggest that even when authors indicate their willingness to share data, the actual compliance rate is the same as for authors who do not provide the DAS, indicating that the DAS may not be sufficient to ensure data sharing.

Summary: This randomized controlled trial evaluated the effect of a short web-based educational intervention on the short-term knowledge of systematic reviews (SRs) among health science students. The results showed that the educational intervention group had a 23% higher percentage of correct answers in the post-intervention questionnaire compared to the PRISMA checklist group.

Summary: Positive feedback was obtained for the newly designed online educational intervention on systematic reviews (SRs), indicating increased knowledge and suitability for learning about SRs among healthcare workers. Suggestions for improvement were provided for tailoring the education. Future studies should examine the effectiveness of the modified educational intervention in larger samples and randomized controlled trials.

Summary: This study analyzed whether articles labeled as systematic reviews or meta-analyses (SRs/MAs) were actually updated versions of previously existing SR/MA. The research examined the usage of the term "update" and whether the previous version of SR was referenced. The majority of articles using the term "update" in the title/abstract were not updated versions of an SR.

Summary: This study examined the attitudes and factors influencing the choice of thesis type among Croatian nursing students. Mentor encouragement, knowledge, and sense of research ability were positively associated with positive attitudes toward scientific research and preference for a research-based thesis. Policy-makers should consider these factors and encourage students to engage in research and select research-based theses.

Summary: This study examines the anticipatory grief of informal caregivers providing at-home palliative care for their ill spouse. The caregivers bravely face the challenges of living with an illness by maintaining optimism, strong cohesion with their partner, and a sense of joint destiny. They tend to repress their personal needs and feelings while taking on the burden of care. Caregivers tend to stay positive and focus on living in the present by actively caring for their ill spouse and family.

Summary: This study analyzed the characteristics and completion status of Systematic Reviews (SRs) about regional anesthesia for acute perioperative pain relief registered in PROSPERO. The results showed that although there is an increase in PROSPERO registrations for regional anesthesia, most of the studies are not published and a significant number of records have inaccurate status.

Summary: This study surveyed systematic reviewers on their current approaches to data extraction and found limited guidance and knowledge on current methods. Results showed that 65% of respondents used adapted extraction forms, and 62% used newly developed forms. Independent and duplicate extraction was considered the most appropriate approach by 64% of respondents. Furthermore, 60% of respondents suggested research on the effects of different methods on error rates and the use of data extraction support tools.
