Summary: In this study, we investigated the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of resveratrol (RSV) on human mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from middle-aged and elderly donors. Our findings suggest that RSV has a greater impact on reducing oxidative stress and inflammation in middle-aged individuals compared to the elderly.

Summary: This study assessed the effects of procyanidins (PC) on cell apoptosis caused by zearalenone (ZEA) and validated the role of Nrf2 in this process. The findings demonstrated that PC could enhance the cell antioxidant capacity, mitigate ZEA-induced cell apoptosis, and promote the expression of Nrf2 and its downstream genes. This discovery contributes to the clinical application of PC in preventing reproductive toxicity caused by ZEA.

Summary: Cerebral ischemia is associated with increased oxidative stress, which can be mitigated by resveratrol's anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Overload of transition elements and toxic metals like iron, copper, aluminum, and arsenic are detrimental to brain function. Resveratrol protects against cerebral ischemic injury by reducing lipid peroxidation, transitioning elements, and toxic metals, while enhancing anti-oxidant activity.

Summary: The synergistic effect of ZEA and LPS aggravates cytotoxicity by increasing the accumulation of ROS and MDA, decreasing MMP and SOD levels, and reducing GSH levels. Additionally, ZEA and LPS promote cell apoptosis by activating ER stress and suppressing anti-apoptotic proteins.

Summary: The study indicates the important role of SIRT3 in glucocorticoid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head. Resveratrol can reduce oxidative stress and mitochondrial damage by activating SIRT3, and promote osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs through the AMPK/PGC-1 alpha/SIRT3 axis. Resveratrol administration can prevent GIONFH, enhance SIRT3 expression, and reduce oxidative levels in affected rats.

Summary: The study evaluated the neuroprotective potential of viniferin in NGF-differentiated PC12 cells and its anti-inflammatory properties in a N9 microglia-neuronal PC12 cell co-culture system. Results showed that viniferin and a mixture of viniferin and resveratrol protect neuronal dopaminergic cells from 6-OHDA-induced cytotoxicity and apoptosis.

Summary: Di-(2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is found to negatively impact embryonic development and cause adverse female reproductive disorders. This study investigates the effect of DEHP on cell viability and the downregulation of molecules associated with cell decidualization. It is observed that DEHP alters cell morphology and induces the entry of ER alpha into the nucleus, while the use of resveratrol (RSV) reverses these effects and promotes the upregulation of decidual molecules.

Summary: This study found that exposure to ZEA can induce oxidative stress and autophagy in dairy goat Sertoli cells, leading to cell apoptosis and decreased cell viability. NAC pretreatment can effectively inhibit ZEA-induced oxidative stress, apoptosis, and autophagy. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms of ZEA-induced reproductive damage in dairy goats.

Summary: This study found that lycopene can protect the uterus from damage caused by zearalenone and improve pregnancy outcomes. Lycopene reduces oxidative stress and inflammation by its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as improves uterine cell proliferation and apoptosis. These findings suggest that lycopene could be a potential new drug for the prevention or treatment of zearalenone-induced reproductive toxicity.

Summary: This study aimed to determine whether and how resveratrol (RES) can alleviate liver injury in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced gibel carp. The results suggested that RES attenuated oxidative stress and inflammation by activating the Nrf2/Keap1 pathway and inhibiting the NF-kappa B pathway. Furthermore, RES cleared damaged mitochondria and enhanced mitochondrial biogenesis to mitigate reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation. Overall, RES alleviated LPS-induced oxidative stress and inflammation in gibel carp through mitochondria-related mechanisms.
