Summary: This study experimentally and numerically tested the thermal performance of three different linear housings for medium power LED arrays under various ambient temperatures, showing that Model-3 with inner and outer fins offers lower junction temperature, lower cost, and a safe operating temperature range compared to others. The results demonstrated that the addition of a fan significantly reduced the LED junction temperature, providing a safe operating range and protection against thermal shocks. Forced convection allows the use of smaller housing for lower junction temperature.

Summary: This paper presents a time-evolving digital twin that combines physics-based and data-based models of a physical twin using a weighting technique. The digital twin's temporal evolution is optimized based on recorded data, and the output functions are updated to accurately reflect the behavior of the physical twin. The application of this approach to an engineering dynamics example involving cascading tanks driven by a pump is demonstrated, and the results show the successful capture of the time-varying water level.

Summary: The emergence of Internet of Things and artificial intelligence in the era of Industry 4.0 has changed the decision-making process in production systems. The use of digital twins (DTs) enables many decisions to be made automatically with minimal human intervention. This article proposes a neural network (NN) approach to handle the issue of input data for reliability computations not satisfying a known distribution, and applies a machine learning-inspired algorithm to solve the underlying semi-Markov decision process. Numerical experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach, and the convergence properties of the algorithm are analyzed mathematically.

Summary: A new method using a digital twin has been developed to predict thermal displacements and dynamic characteristics of a machine tool and compensate for accuracy. By reproducing the behavior of machine tools digitally, based on accuracy prediction using model order reduction, and coupling with the digital twin of dynamics, a comprehensive digital machine tool is generated. This method successfully compensates for machining accuracy and accurately estimates dynamic cutting force, providing more detailed visualization of actual machine phenomena compared to conventional compensation methods.
