Robust Dirac spin gapless semiconductors in a two-dimensional oxalate based organic honeycomb-kagome lattice

Jianpei Xing, Xue Jiang, Zhifeng Liu, Yan Qi, Jijun Zhao

Summary: We discovered a family of two-dimensional oxalate-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with robust spin-polarized Dirac cones. The 2D MOFs of Ni-2(C2O4)(3) and Re-2(C2O4)(3) exhibit intrinsic Dirac spin gapless semiconductor properties, large magnetic moments, high Curie temperatures, and large perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. Furthermore, Re-2(C2O4)(3) displays a topologically nontrivial band gap resulting from spin-orbit coupling.

Sc-B24N24: A New Low-Density Allotrope of BN

Xiaoyue Zhang, Zhifeng Liu, Tielei Song, Xin Cui

Summary: The authors of this study synthesized cagelike B24N24 clusters and discovered a new sp(3)-hybridized BN allotrope called sc-B24N24. Through first-principles calculations, they systematically investigated the geometric, mechanical, electronic, and optical properties of this structure. The results show that sc-B24N24 is mechanically stable, anisotropic, and has semiconductor properties. The doped version of sc-B24N24 also exhibits ferromagnetism and is anticipated to have important applications in spintronics.

Structural and functional characterization of turbot pparγ: Activation during high temperature and regulation of lipid metabolism

Tingting Zhao, Aijun Ma, Zhihui Huang, Zhifeng Liu, Zhibin Sun, Xinan Wang, Rongjing Xu

Summary: This study cloned the ppar gamma gene of turbot and found that ppar gamma transcriptional activity was enhanced under high-temperature stress, indicating its important role in lipid metabolism during turbot's adaptation to high temperatures. RNA interference experiments demonstrated that ppar gamma regulates lipid metabolism by positively regulating the expression of downstream genes fatp and cd36. This study further deepens our understanding of the role of the ppar gamma-mediated signaling pathway in regulating lipid metabolism during heat stress in fish.

The Trends and Gaps in the Sensitivity of Investment to Cash Flow: Evidence from China

Jianjun Sun, Nannan Zu, Zhifeng Liu

Summary: The ability of companies to finance investments using internally generated funds has an impact on corporate sustainability. Empirical research conducted on the financial data of Chinese listed companies from 1998 to 2020 shows a decreasing trend in the sensitivity of investment to cash flow. Factors such as firm size, government equity, and the HP and WW indices explain the gaps in investment-cash flow sensitivity between firms with different financing constraints, while cash dividends do not. Furthermore, the gaps in investment-cash flow sensitivity are narrowing in the long term.

Novel V-BiOIO3/g-C3N4/WC Schottky heterojunction with optimizing optical absorption and charge transfer for abatement of tetracycline antibiotics

Qingyun He, Shanxi Gong, Qinghua Liang, Zhifeng Liu, Binbin Shao, Ting Wu, Yuan Pan, Xiansheng Zhang, Miao He, Lin Ge, Jingwen Sun

Summary: A novel Schottky heterojunction of V-BiOIO3/g-C3N4/WC was synthesized for photocatalytic degradation of TCH. The photocatalytic activity was studied under different conditions and analyzed by various characterizations. The results showed that the heterojunction exhibited excellent photocatalytic performance with a TCH degradation rate of 89.0%. The mechanism analysis revealed that the V-BiO3/FTCN compound acted as an S-scheme heterojunction, effectively suppressing recombination of carriers, while the introduction of WC as a cocatalyst formed a Schottky junction, facilitating carrier separation and enhancing the oxidation ability of h+. This research provides a new approach for the development of efficient carbon nitride-based photocatalysts and their practical applications in environmental remediation.
