Summary: This study investigated the effects of methyl gallate (MG) on ulcerative colitis (UC) and found that MG can regulate macrophage polarization, alleviate inflammation, and inhibit the TLR4/NF-kappa B signaling pathway in UC treatment. Additionally, MG can alter the diversity and composition of the gut microbiota, contributing to the therapeutic effects on UC.

Summary: This study investigated the potential active components and molecular mechanisms of Renshen Baidu powder (RSBDP) for the treatment of ulcerative colitis. Results showed that RSBDP could ameliorate disease activity index, colon weight, colon shortening, and histology in TNBS-induced colitis rats. Furthermore, RSBDP inhibited the PI3K/Akt/NF-kappa B signaling pathway to effectively alleviate colitis in rats.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of bovine milk-derived extracellular vesicles (mEVs) on metabolite changes in colitis. The results showed that mEVs could recover the metabolic abnormalities caused by inflammation and provided new insights into mEVs as a potential modulator for metabolites to prevent and treat inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Summary: The study demonstrated that Shaoyao-Gancao Decoction treatment could effectively improve various aspects of PCOS in rats, such as reducing body weight, regulating hormone levels, and ameliorating ovarian pathology. Additionally, it was found that the treatment decreased the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, enhanced tight junction protein expression, prevented LPS translocation, and reshaped the gut microbiota in PCOS rats. Moreover, the decoction also suppressed key genes and proteins related to the TLR4/NF-kappa B signaling pathway.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the synergistic effect and potential mechanism of New Baitouweng Decoction (NBD) combined with fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in rats with DSS-induced ulcerative colitis (UC). The results showed that the combination of NBD and FMT significantly improved the disease condition, tight junction protein expression, and macrophage marker expression in UC rats. Furthermore, NBD combined with FMT increased short-chain fatty acid concentrations and inhibited the activation of related proteins. Microbiota sequencing results indicated that the diversity and abundance of the gut microbiota were improved after treatment with NBD and FMT.

Summary: This study evaluated the therapeutic effects and molecular mechanisms of Huangkui lianchang decoction (HLD) in ulcerative colitis (UC). The results showed that HLD had a protective effect and could alleviate inflammation and tissue damage in UC mice. In vitro cell experiments demonstrated the anti-inflammatory effects of HLD and its inhibition of autophagy. These findings confirmed that HLD is an effective herbal preparation for the treatment of UC.

Summary: The present study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect of Pulsatilla decoction (PD) on ulcerative colitis (UC) and to elucidate its potential molecular mechanisms. The results showed that PD could reduce disease activity index and infiltration of NK1.1 cells in colitis mice, decrease the secretion of IL-13, and alleviate tissue inflammation and autophagy through modulating the PI3K-Akt-mTORC1 signaling pathway.
