Summary: With the development and application of autonomous live-line maintenance robots (ALMRs), uneven illumination in outdoor environments poses challenges for visual feedback and target recognition. This study proposes an image enhancement method based on image brightness segmentation and multi-methods fusion to improve the visual performance of ALMRs. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves good results on multiple indices and has a relatively short processing time.

Summary: Computer vision-based techniques for structural displacement measurement in civil engineering are gaining popularity. This paper proposes an illumination robust and multi-point simultaneous measuring method for structural displacement measurements. By using fully convolutional network (FCN) and conditional random field (CRF) for beam body segmentation, and digital image correlation (DIC) for displacement measurement, the method achieves measurement without the need of any artificial targets with strong robustness to illumination variations.
