Summary: This study investigates parental knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of optional vaccines in a skeptical European population. The findings show that parental knowledge is related to compliance with optional vaccination, and a high percentage of parents believe that it provides additional health safety benefits for their children. The study suggests the importance of continuous dialogue between the medical community and parents to raise awareness and mitigate the public health impact of optional vaccine-preventable diseases.

Summary: Sources of health and vaccine information like social media, online forums, TV, and newspapers can impact the intention to refuse COVID-19 vaccination. A study in Italy found that fear of adverse reactions to the vaccine was a major reason for vaccine hesitancy among participants who preferred using search engines to seek vaccine information. Understanding these factors is crucial for developing strategies to increase COVID-19 vaccination coverage.

Summary: Despite the potential benefits, Internet adoption among older adults has been lower compared to younger age groups. This study examines the impact of adult children's education on elderly parents' Internet use. The findings suggest that every additional year of children's education increases the likelihood of parents' Internet use by 3.4 percentage points, particularly through mobile devices. Parents with better-educated children are more likely to use the Internet for educational, social, and entertainment purposes. Daughters' education has a stronger effect, and the impact of children's education is larger for fathers or parents with higher education. The study also provides suggestive evidence that better cognitive health may explain the effects of children's education.

Summary: This study aimed to identify the use of online health communities (OHCs) by NICU families and assess its impact on parent-provider relationships. Results showed that most NICU parents use OHCs to connect with other families and alleviate distress. Despite risks, the study found that OHC use does not have a harmful effect on the relationship between parents and their child's medical team.

Summary: This study found that 36% of websites ranked by Google were the same across different search terms for cleft lip and palate. There was no significant correlation between the DISCERN ranking scores and the Google ranking. However, 4 websites in the top 10 DISCERN rankings appeared in the top 10 Google rankings for each search item. This indicates that high-quality information on cleft lip and palate is available on the Internet, but may be difficult for parents and patients to access due to the ranking system used by search engines. Healthcare professionals should be aware of these challenges when recommending websites to families and patients.

Summary: ADHD is a common mental health problem in childhood, but many parents of children with ADHD do not access evidence-based treatments such as behavioral parent training programs. This study presents the development and feasibility of an Internet-delivered intervention for parents of children with ADHD, which showed high usability and parental satisfaction. This Internet-delivered intervention is a promising approach, but further research is needed to investigate its efficacy in a randomized controlled trial.

Summary: This study examines the role of boredom susceptibility as a personality trait in predicting the risk of internet addiction, and analyzes the attentional mechanisms that may exacerbate dysfunctional internet behaviors. The results suggest that both boredom susceptibility and selective attention toward social media cues are related to internet addiction, and the mediation model shows that attentional bias fully explains the link between boredom susceptibility and internet addiction. The study highlights the crucial role of selective attentional processing in internet addiction.

Summary: The digital environment, including the Internet and social networks, presents opportunities for digital marketing, but it also poses challenges for collecting and analyzing the vast amount of information on social networks. This research aims to improve the process of filtering personal information provided by users during online registration and identify profiles that are more likely to provide false information. The findings indicate that older men and younger women are more prone to providing incorrect or intentionally forged data. The main motivations for intentionally providing false information are amusement and lack of trust in data privacy and security measures.

Summary: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by the progressive loss of motor neurons and biomarkers for ALS are important for disease detection and therapeutic targets. This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analyses of genetic loci associated with ALS using genome-wide association studies (GWASs). Aminopeptidases were identified as possible biomarkers, but the meta-analyses did not show a risk association between the genetic variation rs1060404 in the DPP6 gene and ALS.

Summary: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between burnout and resilience and identify the characteristics of nurses with this quality. Analysis of 29 studies showed that nurses were particularly vulnerable to emotional exhaustion, while depersonalization and low personal accomplishment had a lower impact. Nurses with higher levels of resilience tended to have more experience, adequate salaries, and less work overload. Improving nurses' resilience can help prevent burnout and enhance the ability to provide quality healthcare.

Summary: This study examined the impact of new ICTs on nursing intervention records in the Emergency Unit of a hospital in Granada, Spain. The analysis of records from 2017 to 2021 showed a 51.2% increase in registrations. Although there was a low level of correlation between the records and the years, the introduction of tablet devices led to a significant increase in the percentage of recorded interventions without a rise in emergency cases. However, usability barriers of ICTs were identified, emphasizing the importance of training healthcare professionals in their use and promoting a culture of patient safety.

Summary: This study analysed the evolution of burnout syndrome during nursing studies and the interventions for its treatment or prevention in nursing students. A systematic review of 11 relevant studies was conducted, including experimental and cohort studies. The interventions were found to reduce burnout overall, but sometimes increased scores for certain aspects of burnout and the prevalence. Psychological and work environment-related variables were identified as the most important predictors of burnout.

Summary: Telemedicine has had a significant impact on chronic patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Elderly patients, Asian patients, and those whose native language is not English are less likely to use telemedicine. In primary care, lower use of telemedicine is associated with residents of rural areas, African American patients, and others. Some physicians lack training in telemedicine techniques.
