Complex compounds [M(solv)(6)][BnHn], where M = Zn(II), Cd(II); solv = DMF, DMSO;n= 10, 12, have been synthesized and studied by physicochemical methods (IR spectroscopy, electronic absorption spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction). The structures of complexes [Cd(DMF)(6)][B10H10] and [Zn(DMSO)(6)][B10H10] have been determined by X-ray diffraction. Based on the obtained data, methods for the synthesis of Zn(II) and Cd(II) coordination compounds with nitrogen-containing organic ligands in the presence of boron cluster anions [BnHn](2-)(n= 10, 12) have been determined.
