Summary: This study investigates the property and mechanism of intestinal absorption of nanoparticles coated with trimethyl chitosan derivatives (PPTT-NPs), which have previously been shown to enhance the oral bioavailability of panax notoginseng saponins. The results demonstrate that TMC-VB12 and TMC-Cys effectively promote the transport of PPTT-NPs, increasing their adhesion and permeation in the intestines. These findings suggest the potential for oral delivery of BCS III drugs.

Summary: Particle-emulsion complex adjuvants are a new trend in vaccine formulation research, improving immune strength and balancing immune type. The location of the particle and its type of immunity are key factors that have not been extensively studied. In this study, different combining modes of emulsion and particle were investigated, showing that different particle locations in the droplets led to different immunoprotective effects and immune-enhancing mechanisms. CNP-I and CNP-S significantly improved humoral and cellular immunity compared to CNP-O, with CNP-S triggering a Th1-type immune bias and CNP-I promoting a Th2-type immune response. These findings highlight the importance of particle location in the droplets for immune response.

Summary: Archaea are microorganisms that are more closely related to eukaryotes than bacteria. They have been defined as a new domain of life on Earth for almost 50 years, and new species continue to be discovered and studied. The study of their genetics, metabolism, and extreme habitats has led to them being seen as potential models for extraterrestrial life forms. However, archaea also play a significant role on Earth, from their presence in diverse environments to their involvement in global organic material cycles and their association with our microbiota.

Summary: The use of nanoparticles as drug delivery systems has become increasingly important in recent decades. Oral administration, despite its disadvantages, is still the most widely used route for therapeutic treatments and controlled-release systems based on nanoparticles synthesized from biodegradable natural polymers have been found to enhance oral delivery. Chitosan, with its various properties and roles in the pharmaceutical and health fields, is capable of encapsulating and transporting drugs within the body, improving drug efficacy, and forming nanoparticles through multiple mechanisms.

Summary: Valproic acid (VPA) was encapsulated in nano liposomes and stabilized by chitosan to improve its efficacy and reduce side effects. The results showed that chitosan enhanced the controlled release of VPA and had no toxicity effects on cells. The nano carriers also promoted the differentiation of PC12 cells into neurons, as validated by gene expression levels. Therefore, the Lip-VPA-Chit nano carrier has promising potential for treating neurodegenerative disorders.

Summary: Crosslinking affects the mechanical behavior and tissue metabolism of collagen-based tissues. Aging and diabetes alter the crosslinking type and density, thus changing tissue properties. High-connectivity enzymatic crosslinking and advanced-glycation end-products result in uniform deformation under daily activity, while low-connectivity enzymatic crosslinking does not. High-connectivity model displays more sliding, while AGEs induce instability in structures near the binding sites.
