Summary: Psoriasis often coexists with other comorbidities, especially cardiovascular diseases, which contribute to the shortened life expectancy of severe psoriatic patients. Systemic inflammation plays a key role in the relationship between psoriasis and atherosclerotic plaque formation. Regular cardiac monitoring and biologic therapies are crucial for holistic care of severe psoriatic patients.

Summary: White radish extract has the most beneficial effects on reducing triglycerides, while purple radish extract significantly reduces low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Purple radish extract improves total cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, leading to a significant decrease in the atherogenic index and cardiac risk factor.

Summary: Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a component of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) that exhibits potent anti-inflammatory activity. This study found that the incorporation of PS into reconstituted HDL enhanced its anti-inflammatory effects by modulating signaling pathways mediated by SR-BI.

Summary: Atherosclerosis is a well-known global health problem with unclear pathogenesis. Inflammation is considered the preferred target for its treatment, with studies showing efficacy in animal models but inconclusive results in clinical studies. Anti-inflammatory therapy could be part of a complex treatment for atherosclerosis prevention.

Summary: Inflammation plays a significant role in atherogenesis and plaque complications, with certain drugs showing anti-inflammatory effects. Inflammatory biomarkers can predict cardiovascular events. Some anti-inflammatory drugs have been successful in reducing the incidence of cardiovascular events.

Summary: Psoriasis is a persistent inflammatory disease with a genetic predisposition, and it is often associated with the involvement of multiple organs. Atherosclerosis is a common complication in severe psoriasis patients. The specific pathogenesis of psoriasis is still unclear, but it is believed to be a polygenic genetic disease influenced by factors such as heredity and environment. Immune-mediated inflammatory pathways are involved in the proliferation of keratinocytes and the release of inflammatory factors. Psoriasis and atherosclerosis are closely related, and systemic inflammation may be a common feature of both conditions.

Summary: Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) isomers, specifically cis-9, trans-11 (CLA9,11) and trans-10, cis-12 (CLA10,12), have shown modest anti-inflammatory effects on endothelial cells (ECs) at low concentrations. These CLAs decrease the concentrations of inflammatory factors such as MCP-1, IL-6, IL-8, and RANTES in the culture medium, but also upregulate some pro-inflammatory genes while downregulating others. The findings suggest that CLAs may have a role in preventing atherosclerosis by modulating inflammation in ECs.

Summary: In this study, the similarity and difference between Camellia nitidissima Chi (CC), C. euphlebia Merr. ex Sealy (CE), and C. insularis (CI) were comprehensively compared in terms of chemistry and pharmacology. A statistical model combining untargeted metabolomics and fingerprint analyses was developed for chemical pattern recognition and discrimination of the three yellow camellias species. The results showed that CC, CE, and CI could be distinguished based on specific chemical combinations and that they exhibited differences in anti-inflammation/anti-oxidation activities.

Summary: Rhynchophylline (Rhy), a plant-derived indole alkaloid, possesses various protective properties such as anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, anti-hypertensive, and anti-rhythmic effects. It is effective in protecting the central nervous system and cardiovascular system through modulation of calcium and potassium channels, as well as exhibiting anticoagulant and anti-platelet aggregation activity. While more research is needed, Rhy shows promise in preventing early atherosclerosis.

Summary: Platelet-conditioned media induces an anti-inflammatory, pro-resolving phenotype in macrophages. This effect is partially mediated by prostaglandin E2 stimulating the EP4 receptor on macrophages, leading to altered gene expression and function.

Summary: Atherosclerosis is an inflammatory disease that leads to cardiovascular mortality and morbidity. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a known risk factor for atherosclerosis. Sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors have been found to have anti-inflammatory effects and can potentially slow down the progression of atherosclerosis.

Summary: Atherosclerosis, a chronic inflammatory disease triggered by inflammation, can be effectively reduced in terms of cardiovascular events and mortality through anti-inflammatory interventions. Managing risk factors plays a crucial role in attenuating and preventing atherosclerosis and its complications. Promising therapeutic approaches include traditional anti-inflammatory drugs, specific immunomodulation, and vaccination development against atherosclerotic disease.
