A graphene oxide (GO)-containing zinc-phosphate (ZnP) coating on the pure Zn was designed and prepared to enhance their corrosion resistance for promising bioabsorbable orthopedic implant. These results reveal that the ZnP coating significantly reduced the corrosion rate of pure Zn. GO can promote the phosphating process and refined the morphology of ZnP coating, thereby further improved the corrosion resistance of ZnP coating. The ZnP +1 g/L GO coating sample showed good corrosion resistance in Hanks' solution with a corrosion current density of 4.6 mu A/cm(2), a corrosion rate of 68.5 mu m/y, and a resistance of 1424.5 Omega.cm(2).
