The MIL-88/PVB nanofibers were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and subsequent electrostatic spinning. The composite was used as a high efficiency heterogeneous catalyst for photocatalysis coupling of Fenton process to remove tetracycline hydrochloride (TC-HCl) under visible light irradiation. The results indicated that 99% of TC-HCl (500 mg.L-1) was degraded in 90 min. The MIL-88/PVB nanofibers were easy to separate from solution. The results of scavenging experiments and ESR analysis demonstrated that (OH)-O-center dot and O-center dot(2-) were the predominant radicals for the TC-HCl degradation. Moreover, the possible mechanism for enhanced degradation performance of TC-HCl in the heterogeneous catalytic oxidation system was proposed.
