Summary: Background: Combining the contextual clinical characterization framework with categorical algorithm-based diagnosis can provide more clinical value to patients. Methods: Prospective analysis of data from multiple domains to predict the impact on care needs and healthcare outcomes. Results: The predictive power of the contextual clinical characterization components in joint models exceeded that of any individual component, and the polygenic risk scores did not contribute significantly to the models. Conclusion: The transdiagnostic framework of contextual clinical characterization is more valuable to patients than a categorical system of algorithmic ordering of psychopathology.

Summary: This study compares the performance of baseline and longitudinal neuropsychological assessments for the diagnosis of symptomatic Alzheimer's disease (AD) in individuals with Down syndrome (DS). The results show that baseline assessments have better diagnostic performance for AD dementia and prodromal AD than the 1-year intra-individual cognitive decline. Longer follow-up periods improve the diagnostic performance of intra-individual cognitive decline.

Summary: This systematic review examined the evidence for adverse behavioral sequalae of cannabis in healthy individuals, finding that factors such as frequency of use, THC content, age of onset, and cumulative exposure can contribute to negative outcomes. The strongest evidence was found for the impact of cannabis on psychosis and psychosocial functioning, highlighting the importance of understanding vulnerability to these adverse effects in order to prevent and treat problematic cannabis use.

Summary: This paper proposes an unsupervised cross-domain fault diagnosis method based on time-frequency information fusion to address the challenges of label scarcity and data distribution differences in bearing fault diagnosis. The method utilizes wavelet packet decomposition and reconstruction to extract fault features in the form of a 2-D time-frequency map, constructs an unsupervised cross-domain fault diagnosis model, and calculates the joint distribution distance using the improved maximum mean discrepancy algorithm and pseudo-labels. Experimental results on motor bearings demonstrate the high diagnosis accuracy and strong robustness of the proposed method.

Summary: This study tested the familiality of IQ in first episode psychosis patients and its association with different profiles. The results showed that IQ-familiality was low-moderate, and 44.9% of patients had a low intra-family resemblance score. Patients with low IQ and discordancy with their family-IQ had more schizophrenia diagnosis and poorer premorbid adjustment. On the other hand, patients with low IQ and close resemblance to their family-IQ had the lowest performance in executive functions.

Summary: Recent evidence suggests that DDR1 plays a role in myelination and is associated with decreased cognitive processing speed in schizophrenia. This study investigated the association between DDR1 variants and cognitive processing speed in early psychosis patients. The results showed that SZ-risk combined genotypes were associated with increased cognitive processing speed in early psychosis patients.

Summary: Research has shown that in individuals with early psychosis, cognitive ability and social cognition are strongly related to psychosocial function, even after accounting for the effects of symptom severity, duration of untreated psychosis, and length of illness. Overall, general cognitive ability and social cognition are most strongly associated with both concurrent and long-term function, with associations demonstrating medium effect sizes.

Summary: Empathy allows us to understand others' emotions and plays a crucial role in promoting prosocial behavior. This study explores the relationship between mindfulness and empathy, specifically investigating the impact of self-regulated attention and orientation to experience on cognitive and affective empathy. The findings reveal that mindfulness is associated with cognitive empathy through the promotion of emotional awareness, while limiting the influence of others' emotions on oneself.

Summary: Self-other distinction refers to the ability to differentiate between our own and others' physical and mental states, which is crucial for understanding others and developing empathy. The appropriate level of self-other distinction varies depending on social situations and the need to engage or detach from others' mental states. Problems with self-other distinction are associated with a range of psychiatric symptoms, highlighting the importance of adopting holistic therapeutic approaches in Psychiatry.

Summary: Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder, and there is a lack of effective and widely available diagnostic tools. Clinical electroencephalogram (EEG) has shown potential in capturing abnormal schizophrenia neuropathology. This study developed an interpretable deep learning model using multimodal clinical EEG features and demographic information as inputs, and proposed different transfer learning strategies to adapt to different clinical scenarios.

Summary: This study is the first to explore the association between wisdom and psychotic-like experiences (PLEs), and it found that wisdom is negatively associated with the frequency and distress of PLEs. Additionally, wisdom significantly attenuates the distress associated with PLEs in individuals with low PLEs.

Summary: This study tested the cognitive performance of wild southern pied babblers in associative learning, reversal learning, and inhibitory control tasks, and found that a single factor explained the variation in cognitive performance across tasks. Age and sex influenced the general cognitive performance, and individuals with lower general cognitive performance produced more fledglings per year.
