Summary: A systematic review found no significant association between COVID-19 vaccination and assisted reproductive techniques. Studies showed no differences in fertility treatment response, embryo quality, implantation rates, or pregnancy outcomes between vaccinated and unvaccinated patients. Therefore, COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for patients undergoing assisted reproductive techniques.

Summary: The study found that children conceived with assisted reproductive techniques (ART) had a lower risk of ADHD and performed better in school compared to other children. Differences in parental characteristics explained and even reversed associations, with no disadvantage seen when comparing children of couples with known infertility.

Summary: The popularity of low-glycemic foods has increased interest in glycemic index (GI) among both diabetic patients and healthy individuals. This study aimed to validate a glycemic load (GL) prediction model and found that it accurately predicts blood glucose responses based on the nutrient content labeled on fast foods.

Summary: This study found that there is a positive correlation between high glycemic load, high insulin load, and high glycemic index with the odds of developing colorectal cancer. On the other hand, high carbohydrate quality index and low-carbohydrate diet score are significantly negatively associated with the odds of colorectal cancer. Therefore, it is recommended to follow a diet with high-quality carbohydrates, low glycemic index, and low glycemic load to minimize the risk of developing colorectal cancer.

Summary: Carbohydrate-containing crops are the major source of dietary energy globally. The quality of carbohydrate foods is impacted by various factors including proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. There is a pressing need for the development of standardized metrics and tools to assess the quality of carbohydrate foods.

Summary: The impact of follicular flushing on live birth and miscarriage rates compared with aspiration alone is uncertain. The evidence does not provide conclusive results on the effect of follicular flushing on oocyte yield, total number of embryos, number of cryopreserved embryos, or clinical pregnancy rate. However, it may take longer to perform the follicular flushing procedure compared to aspiration alone. The evidence is insufficient to draw firm conclusions regarding adverse events or safety.

Summary: In children with type 1 diabetes, a healthy lifestyle is crucial for glycemic control and reducing inflammatory effects. Glycemic index and load are important indicators to assess the quality of food consumed. Recent studies have shown that incorporating low-glycemic-index foods into the diet can result in better glycemic stability and reduced hyperglycemic peaks.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between carbohydrate quality index (CQI), low-carbohydrate diet score (LCDS), glycemic index (GI), glycemic load (GL), insulin load (IL), insulin index (II) and bone mass density (BMD) in postmenopausal women. The results showed that diets with higher GI increased the risk of osteopenia and osteoporosis, while LCDS and CQI decreased the risk. These findings suggest that a higher intake of fruits and vegetables, as well as various dietary vitamins, minerals, and antioxidant compounds, may be an effective way to prevent osteopenia in Iranian women.

Summary: Infertility in women with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis may be addressed through assisted reproductive technology (ART), with pregnancy and live birth rates similar to the general population. However, efficacy of ART may be reduced in patients with CD-related surgery and IPAA failure.

Summary: The study investigated the relationship between carbohydrate exposure and the risk of physical frailty, finding that higher intake of simple carbohydrates was significantly associated with a greater risk of physical frailty in older males. No significant associations were observed with complex or total carbohydrate intake, glycemic load, or adherence to a low-carbohydrate diet. Additional research is needed to explore the underlying mechanisms.

Summary: This study investigated the neurodevelopmental outcomes at 4 years in preterm infants born before 34 weeks of gestational age (GA) after assisted reproductive technology (ART). The study found that ART preterm infants had a lower risk of neurodevelopmental difficulties compared to naturally conceived preterm infants. The factors that influenced neurodevelopment were gender, socio-economic level, and gestational age at birth.

Summary: This nationwide cohort study examined the outcomes of assisted reproductive technology treatments in women using donor or partner sperm in Denmark from 2007 to 2017. The study found that the use of donor sperm was associated with higher odds of live birth after IUI treatments in women with male partners (aOR 1.48), single women (aOR 1.20), and women with female partners (aOR 1.46). However, there was no significant difference in live birth rates between women using donor and partner sperm after IVF treatments. The study highlights the importance of healthcare professionals attending to the individual needs and fertility issues of women seeking fertility treatments.

Summary: This study analyzed the occurrence of monozygotic and dizygotic spontaneous twins in Lombardy from 2007 to 2017. The results showed a declining trend in the birth rates of spontaneous twins, especially dizygotic twins. Furthermore, it was found that nulliparous women aged 35 and above had a higher rate of dizygotic twin births.

Summary: Several studies have shown that the use of D-mannose can lower the risk of recurrent urinary tract infections (UTI), but its role in treating UTI/cystitis-related symptoms is still unclear. This systematic review analyzed published data on the effect of D-mannose, alone or in combination with other compounds, on the typical symptoms of UTI/cystitis. The results showed that symptoms decreased after treatment with D-mannose, suggesting its potential usefulness in the treatment of UTI/cystitis symptoms.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analyses of the prevalence and phenotypes of PCOS in Europe and the USA. The results showed similar prevalence rates of PCOS between European countries and the USA, but differences in the frequencies of PCOS phenotypes. Understanding the factors behind these differences would contribute to a better understanding of the etiopathogenesis and clinical expression of PCOS.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the association between oral health status and the chance of clinical pregnancy by performing a systematic review. Limited studies suggest that oral health might affect fertility in women, but results from prospective randomized trials comparing PD treatment and no treatment in women seeking pregnancy are needed to clarify the real effectiveness of treatment in improving the conception rate.

Summary: This study aimed to confirm the association between alcohol intake and endometriosis risk. It found a borderline significance between any alcohol consumption and endometriosis risk but confirmed a significant association between moderate alcohol intake and the disease. The partly divergent evidence highlights the challenge of isolating the impact of specific factors on multifactorial diseases.

Summary: This study explored the relationship between intake of antioxidants, vitamins, and carotenoids and outcomes of assisted reproduction techniques. The results showed that age was associated with the number of good quality oocytes, and moderate physical activity in the prior 5 years was associated with a higher rate of achieving clinical pregnancy. Smoking, alcohol intake, and caffeine consumption showed no associations with any outcome, and there were no associations found between intake of vitamins C, D, E, and alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, beta-cryptoxanthin, lutein, and folate.

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the long-term risk of disease recurrence in women treated for high-grade vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (HG-VaIN). A retrospective analysis was conducted on a cohort of 82 women diagnosed with HG-VaIN between 2010 and 2021 in Milan, Italy. The results showed a recurrence rate of 17%, with a 5-year cumulative probability of recurrence of 30.4% and a median time to recurrence of 15.5 months. None of the patients developed invasive vaginal cancer during follow-up. The presence of concomitant cervical or vulvar intraepithelial lesion was significantly associated with an increased risk of recurrence. Therefore, strict monitoring is necessary for early identification of recurrence in these women.
