Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effect of chlorogenic acid (CGA) in improving hepatic oxidative stress and elucidate its mechanism. The results showed that CGA suppressed the activation of the JNK signaling pathway by ameliorating endoplasmic reticulum stress, thereby reducing intracellular free radicals. Additionally, CGA attenuated oxidative stress by targeting miR-199a-5p, inhibiting JNK phosphorylation, and promoting the transcription of the GRP78 gene. These findings suggest that CGA may serve as an alternative compound to mitigate hepatic oxidative damage through the miR-199a-5p/GPR78 axis.

Summary: The study demonstrates a tumor-suppressive role of miR-199b-5p in invasion and metastasis of PCa by inhibiting DDR1 expression and EMT, leading to poor prognosis in patients. Additionally, the miR-199b-5p-DDR1-ERK signaling axis represents a novel mechanism for regulating EMT in PCa metastases.

Summary: A circular RNA called circEPHA3 was found to be down-regulated in prostate cancer tissues and cell lines. The study further demonstrated that circEPHA3 inhibits the proliferation and metastasis of prostate cancer cells through the miR-513a-3p/BMP2 axis, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target for prostate cancer.

Summary: This study found that the long non-coding RNA TINCR upregulates PD-L1 expression and promotes the progression of breast cancer. TINCR regulates the stability of miR-199a-5p and USP20, which affects the expression of PD-L1 and the therapeutic effect of breast cancer. This research broadens the functional diversity of TINCR in tumor biology and provides clues for new research directions and potential therapeutic targets for PD-L1 inhibitors in breast cancer.

Summary: Prostate cancer (PCa) is a common malignant cancer in elderly males in Western countries. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are frequently altered in castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) and promote drug resistance to cancer therapy. Elucidating the prospective role of lncRNAs in PCa oncogenesis and progression is of remarkable clinical significance.

Summary: circMTO1 acts as a tumor suppressor in HCC by regulating the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition through the circMTO1/miR-541-5p/ZIC1 axis. It inhibits HCC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and promotes apoptosis.

Summary: SMARCA4 is highly upregulated in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) tissues, promoting cell invasion and tumor growth. Mechanistic studies reveal that miR-199a-5p-regulated SMARCA4 promotes tumor cell invasion and metastasis through epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). These findings provide insights into the role of SMARCA4 in OSCC and have important implications for therapy.

Summary: Tumor development requires metabolic adaptations to meet energy demands, with strategies including shifting from oxidative phosphorylation to glycolysis. In prostate cancer, OXPHOS increases compared to normal tissue, presenting therapeutic opportunities for targeting mitochondrial activities. Selective targeting of cancer mitochondria over normal counterparts is a challenge in developing OXPHOS inhibitors.
