Anatase and brookite TiO2 mesoporous layers were prepared at a low temperature (150 degrees C) from binder-free precursors based on the dehydration reaction of surface hydroxy groups for interparticle connection. Their electron-collecting performance in perovskite solar cells was investigated. With more uniform perovskite layers formed on the brookite layer of higher density, the brookite-based solar cells give better performance than the anatase-based cells in terms of higher power conversion efficiency with minimal hysteresis.
