Summary: miR-96-5p plays a significant role in diagnosing gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), with decreased levels in both placenta and plasma samples of patients with GDM. It can serve as a diagnostic biomarker for GDM with high sensitivity and specificity, and may participate in the pathogenesis of GDM by affecting the viability of trophoblasts.

Summary: This study identified differential metabolic biomarkers between women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and macrosomia (GDM-M) and those with GDM and normal neonatal weight (GDM-N). Using LASSO regression and Logistic regression, a predictive model was constructed with nine predictors that displayed good performance in predicting GDM-M risk. This model is of significant importance for predicting the risk of macrosomia in women with GDM.

Summary: This study found that circMAP3K4, highly expressed in the placentas of patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and the insulin resistance (IR) trophoblast model, is associated with dysregulated insulin-PI3K/Akt pathway. circMAP3K4 may suppress the insulin-PI3K/Akt signaling pathway via the miR-6795-5p/PTPN1 axis, contributing to GDM-related insulin resistance.

Summary: The study revealed that miR-134-5p is upregulated in GDM patients and can serve as a critical diagnostic marker; inhibition of miR-134-5p can alleviate inflammation and apoptosis in GDM cells; miR-134-5p suppresses FOXP2 expression to facilitate inflammation and apoptosis of trophoblast cells, exacerbating GDM.

Summary: The study revealed that miR-875-5p levels were reduced while TXNRD1 levels were increased in GDM rats compared to normal pregnancy rats. miR-875-5p regulates insulin resistance and inflammation by targeting TXNRD1, suggesting they may serve as potential therapeutic targets for GDM.

Summary: This study found that miR-518 was highly expressed in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy (HDCP), and it could assist in the diagnosis of these conditions. MiR-518 regulated serum inflammatory factors by inhibiting PPARα.

Summary: The transparency of the human cornea relies on non-proliferative human corneal endothelial cells (HCEnCs). Dysfunction of these cells can lead to irreversible corneal blindness. This study aimed to investigate the inhibitory effect of miR-195-5p on the proliferation of HCEnCs, as miR-195-5p has been shown to inhibit proliferation in non small cell lung cancer.

Summary: miR-195-5p, as a noncoding RNA, plays an important regulatory role in cancer by affecting various pathways and behaviors of tumor cells. Through studying its expression and mechanisms in different tumors, we believe that miR-195-5p may serve as a novel diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target for cancer.

Summary: The study found that serum miR-195-5p was downregulated in EH patients with concomitant T2DM, which is related to the pathogenesis of EH and T2DM, and miR-195-5p was found to exert its function by suppressing the expression of DRD1. These results demonstrate the potential clinical significance of miR-195-5p in the diagnosis and treatment of EH and T2DM.

Summary: This study found a positive association between remnant cholesterol (RC) levels in early pregnancy and the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in pregnant women. RC serves as an early warning indicator of GDM, especially for pregnant women with normal levels of HDL-c, LDL-c, and TC that can easily be overlooked. Pregnant women with RC levels exceeding 24.30 mg/dL have a higher risk of developing GDM.

Summary: This study found that levels of miR-135a-5p were elevated in placental-derived exosomes isolated from the peripheral plasma of women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) compared to those from healthy pregnant women. Additionally, miR-135a-5p was found to promote cell growth, invasion, and migration by activating the PI3K/AKT pathway via Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1). These findings suggest that exosomal miR-135a-5p from the placenta could be a potential therapeutic agent for targeting genes and pathways involved in GDM.

Summary: This study found that LINC00511 was upregulated in LUAD, while miR-195-5p was downregulated. This dysregulation promoted malignant proliferation, migration, and invasion of LUAD cells and affected the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins. Additionally, LINC00511 promoted GCNT3 expression by inhibiting miR-195-5p.
