Summary: The study proposed using Gabor features and classifiers to improve the accuracy of image watermarking identification, using discriminant analysis and random forests as classifiers, and achieving good classification performance. The proposed method showed excellent performance in terms of true positive rate and false negative rate, and has the advantage of being able to find images with watermarks in different databases.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel descriptor called M-BSIF for extracting distinctive and relevant features from face images. The proposed method combines monogenic signal representation and Binarized Statistical Image Feature (BSIF) to enhance the capability of face feature extraction. Experimental results on three public databases show that the proposed M-BSIF descriptor outperforms a framework using only single BSIF.

Summary: By introducing parameters with local information, a new framework called transformed orthogonal moment (TOM) is developed to overcome the limitations of existing orthogonal moments in controlling local features. The basis function's zeros distribution can be adjusted using a novel local constructor, resulting in the proposed local orthogonal moment (LOM) with more accurate feature extraction than fractional-order orthogonal moments (FOOMs). LOM also has an order-insensitive range compared to other moments. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of LOM in extracting local features in images.

Summary: This study proposes two promising methods (LCMoG) for improving face recognition performance by learning the covariance matrix of Gabor wavelet. One method uses a shallow Convolutional Neural Network to project covariance matrices into Euclidean space, while the other method embeds the covariance matrix in linear space using matrix logarithm and learns face features through Whitening Principal Component Analysis.
