Summary: The use of immunohistochemistry is crucial in thyroid pathology, going beyond the confirmation of thyroid origin to include molecular profiling and prediction of clinical behavior. It has also influenced the classification scheme of thyroid tumors. Immunostains should be interpreted in conjunction with cytologic and architectural features, and their validation is essential for specimens with limited cellularity.

Summary: This research investigates the Stokesian flow of an axisymmetric, incompressible couple stress fluid through a porous material enclosing a solid sphere in the presence of a uniform magnetic field. The problem is solved analytically using the separation of variables technique. The obtained expressions involve modified Bessel functions, trigonometric functions, and algebraic functions and provide insight into the drag force experienced by the solid sphere in the porous material under the applied magnetic field.

Summary: Pancreatic solid-pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN) is a rare tumor that mainly affects young females. While the cytological diagnosis is usually straightforward in typical cases, atypical clinical presentations and cytological features can make it challenging. This study provides insights into both typical and atypical features of SPN, emphasizing the importance of recognizing unusual clinical and cytological features to avoid misdiagnosis.

Summary: Extracellular RNAs (exRNAs) are a type of stable RNA present outside of cells, playing important roles in intercellular communication and cellular regulation. This study developed a comprehensive database, exRNADisease, containing exRNA transcriptome data from human diseases and healthy controls, which can provide a genome-wide view of exRNA deregulation and help identify novel biomarkers.

Summary: This study conducted in St. Peter's specialized hospital, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, found that 42.3% of healthcare workers had occupational exposure to HIV, but only 16.1% utilized post-exposure prophylaxis. Healthcare workers with lower-level education and those who received infection prevention training had lower risk of exposure, while nurses, midwives, and physicians had higher risk compared to other professionals.

Summary: This study compared the use of Romanowsky-stained cytology (RSC) and cell blocks (CB) for immunolabeling of lymphoid markers (CD3 and PAX5) in canine and feline lymphomas. It was found that RSC had unsatisfactory performance, while CB was more reliable. CB was deemed more suitable for determining lymphoma phenotype.

Summary: Fine needle aspiration of renal masses can distinguish between benign and malignant neoplasms. Cytology alone may not always accurately subclassify renal cell carcinomas due to increasing molecular classification. A study on FNA of renal tumors found a 35% correct diagnosis rate among cytopathologists, with chromophobe RCCs having the highest accuracy. Inter-rater variability was fair and core needle biopsy may be necessary for accurate classification.
