Summary: Stress is a rapidly increasing public health issue worldwide, requiring detection and evaluation through short scales. This study analyzed the psychometric properties of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) in a sample of 752 individuals from Lima, Peru, confirming the global fit of a 12-item version (PSS-12) with two orthogonal factors, demonstrating metric equivalence by gender and adequate internal consistency. These results support the use of PSS-12 for stress measurement in the Peruvian population.

Summary: The present study aimed to test the psychometric properties of the PSS-10 among Chinese nurses. The results showed that the PSS-10 demonstrated good fit, internal consistency, and test-retest reliability among Chinese nurses. Additionally, it exhibited satisfactory convergent and discriminant validity with relation to Big Five personalities, as well as good criterion validity in predicting anxiety, depression, and stress.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the validity and reliability of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) in youth with mental illness. The results confirmed the two-factor structure of the PSS and showed high internal consistency reliability. The PSS also demonstrated convergent validity with measures of family functioning, disability, health-related quality of life, and self-concept. The study did not find any differences in PSS scores based on age or sex, but higher scores were found for youth with internalizing disorders.

Summary: The study aimed to translate and validate the COVID Stress Scales (CSS-36) into Spanish in Peru. A total of 1,424 participants were selected through non-probabilistic sampling. Factor analysis confirmed the initial six-dimensional factorial structure of the CSS-36. The dimensions of fear of danger, socioeconomic consequences, xenophobia, fear of contamination, traumatic stress, and compulsive control showed good reliability by internal consistency. The factorial structure of the scale was found to be strictly invariant for both males and females. The Spanish version of CSS-36 demonstrated evidence of validity, reliability, and invariance in measuring COVID-19 stress in a Peruvian sample.

Summary: Social support plays an important role in stroke rehabilitation, and the MSPSS-C is a valid tool for assessing perceived social support among chronic stroke survivors. This study examined the psychometric properties of the MSPSS-C in Chinese people with stroke and found that stroke patients had lower levels of perceived social support compared to those without stroke.

Summary: This study developed a questionnaire, the Perceived Physical Literacy for Chinese Elderly Questionnaire (PPLCEQ), to assess Chinese older adults' perceived physical literacy and evaluated its psychometric properties. The results showed that the questionnaire consists of 47 items and 6 subscales, and the participants' scores were moderately correlated with their leisure-time physical activity, physical activity maintenance, and perceived competence for exercising regularly. The questionnaire demonstrated good reliability and test-retest reliability.

Summary: The study aimed to assess the reliability and validity of RESTQ-Sport-36 in collegiate student-athletes, using structural equation modeling to compare different model structures. Results showed that the 12-factor structure had the best fit, supporting the construct validity of the measurement model. The findings suggest that RESTQ-Sport-36 can be a useful tool for monitoring training load and competition in collegiate student-athletes.

Summary: This study evaluated the factorial and reliability structure of the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support among autonomous older adults in Chile. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that a 3-factor model with support from Family, Friends, and significant others had the best fit index. The factors demonstrated good to excellent reliability, supporting the use of MSPSS as a measurement tool to distinguish perceived support sources.

Summary: Patient safety in orthopedics has become increasingly important in recent years and is considered a core concept of medical care quality. However, there is a lack of measurement instruments for evaluating post-surgery orthopedic patients' perceptions. This study aimed to develop a new measurement instrument, the self-perceived safety of orthopedic post-surgery inpatients (SPSOPSI) scale, to provide healthcare workers with a better understanding of orthopedic patients' self-perceived safety and more precise clinical suggestions.

Summary: This systematic review identified and summarized the reliability and validity of questionnaires designed for assessing self-perceived physical fitness in elderly people. Seven questionnaires were found, five of them specifically designed for the elderly. Concurrent validity was mainly obtained by correlating the questionnaires with PF field-based tests, while high values of test-retest reliability were generally observed.
