Summary: Chronic allograft dysfunction (CAD) is a major condition affecting long-term kidney graft survival. In this study, the correlation between plasma miR-21 and the severity of CAD was investigated. RNA sequencing was performed and differentially expressed miRNAs in CAD were identified. MiR-21-5p, miR-20a-5p, and miR-101-3p were found to be associated with the TGF-beta pathway and CAD. These findings may lead to the development of early prediction miRNA biomarkers and therapeutic tools for CAD in the field of kidney transplantation.

Summary: The study investigated the urinary microRNA expression profile in a gentamicin-induced acute kidney injury canine model and found that miR-15b and -30a may be promising biomarkers for renal toxicity, with diagnostic values superior to traditional serum biomarkers. Furthermore, the levels of miR-15b and -30a in urine samples correlated significantly with their levels in kidney tissue samples.

Summary: The study found that miR-155 and miR-146a were upregulated in gastrointestinal and skin tissue samples of aGvHD patients, and their expression levels in serum and urine samples were also associated with the risk of developing aGvHD. These results support the potential of miR-155 and miR-146a as biomarkers for aGvHD, but further investigation is needed to understand their role in generalized inflammation and specific pathophysiology.

Summary: The study utilized comprehensive bioinformatics analysis and experimental validation to identify hsa-miR-21-5p as significantly up-regulated in breast cancer tissues, cells, and exosomes. Further investigations confirmed the diagnostic value of plasma exosomal hsa-miR-21-5p in distinguishing healthy individuals from breast cancer patients, with a sensitivity of 86.7% and specificity of 93.3%.

Summary: Activation of trimethylation of histone 3 lysine 27 (H3K27me3) by EZH2 plays a role in endometriosis, with higher expression of PRC2 complex components like JARID2, miR-155, and FOXP3 noted in patient tissues. MiR-155 affects the PRC2 complex but has minimal impact on JARID2 expression, suggesting alternative pathways may be involved. A novel crosstalk between miR-155, the PRC2 complex, JARID2, and PHF19 has been identified, providing potential epigenetic targets for further study in endometriosis.

Summary: The aim of this study was to develop a new diagnostic biomarker for identifying specific serum exosomal miRNAs in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) and investigate the target gene of the miRNA to understand the molecular mechanisms involved. The results showed that miRNA-1290 was significantly overexpressed in serum exosomes and tissues of EOC patients compared to those with benign ovarian neoplasms. Furthermore, the study suggested that serum exosomal miR-1290 could be considered as a potential biomarker for differentiating EOC from benign ovarian neoplasms, and SOCS4 might be a potential target gene of miR-1290 in EOC.

Summary: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a significant role in cancer, and this study identified 5 miRNAs associated with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). The results showed that the expression levels of these miRNAs were significantly altered in CLL patients. Furthermore, the expression levels of TGFBR1 and TGFBR2 were also decreased. These miRNAs could potentially serve as biomarkers for early diagnosis and prognosis of CLL.

Summary: Recent evidence suggests that miRNA sponges can neutralize miRNA activity in colorectal cancer by sequestering miRNAs from their targets. This study evaluated the DANCR, miR-145-5p, NRAS axis in the context of colorectal cancer diagnosis. The upregulation of DANCR, significant differences in miR-145-5p and NRAS expression levels between tumor and normal tissues, and the correlation between these factors suggest their potential diagnostic utility.

Summary: Endometriosis is a gynecological disease that affects women of reproductive age, causing gynecologic symptoms and systemic effects like inflammation, altered body weight, and behavioral changes. Research indicates that endometriosis may alter the activity level of the hypocretin/orexin neuronal system, leading to low body weight, differences in body composition, and behavioral changes.

Summary: Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory gynecological disorder characterized by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) not only contribute directly to endometriosis, but also indirectly affect the bone marrow by regulating inflammatory cells derived from the bone marrow. Conditioning of bone marrow with MSCs can inhibit the development of endometriotic lesions, reduce inflammation, and potentially promote tissue repair.
