Summary: NEAT1 promotes glioma tumorigenesis by acting as a competing endogenous RNA for miR-185-5p to regulate DNMT1/mTOR signaling pathway, inhibiting apoptosis and promoting glioma migration, proliferation, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. Moreover, NEAT1 knockdown can suppress tumor growth and alter the expression of related genes in vivo, highlighting its potential as a diagnostic and therapeutic target in glioma.

Summary: This study reveals that circ-TRIO plays a crucial role in TNBC and is associated with the recurrence and prognosis of TNBC patients. The findings demonstrate that knockdown of circ-TRIO inhibits the proliferation, migration, and invasion of TNBC cells, while overexpression of circ-TRIO has the opposite effects. Mechanistically, circ-TRIO interacts with miR-432-5p to regulate the expression of CCDC58.

Summary: A long non-coding RNA (CFRL) associated with cardiac fibrosis has been identified, which can promote the proliferation and migration of cardiac fibroblasts. Silencing CFRL significantly alleviates cardiac fibrosis and improves ventricular function. Interfering with CFRL may be considered as a multitarget strategy for treating cardiac fibrosis and heart failure.

Summary: Endothelial dysfunction is crucial in vascular disease pathogenesis. Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) and microRNA (miRNA) play significant roles in various cellular processes in vascular endothelial cells (VECs), including cell growth, migration, autophagy, and apoptosis. The present study investigated the role of plasmacytoma variant translocation 1 (PVT1) in regulating autophagy and apoptosis in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC). It was found that PVT1 knockdown accelerates apoptosis and suppresses cellular autophagy. PVT1 functions as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) of miR-15b-5p and miR-424-5p, promoting cellular autophagy and down-regulating apoptosis. This study suggests PVT1 as a potential therapeutic target for cardiovascular disease treatment.

Summary: Mounting evidence suggests that circular RNAs (circRNAs) play important roles in the development and progression of cancers. In this study, researchers identified a specific circRNA, circXPO1, that was significantly upregulated in glioblastomas (GBM). Functional studies demonstrated that circXPO1 promoted GBM cell proliferation, migration, and tumor formation. Further investigation revealed that circXPO1 directly bound to miR-7-5p, which negatively regulated the RAF1 gene expression. These findings suggest that circXPO1 may be a potential therapeutic target for GBM treatment.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the regulatory role of differentially-expressed circular RNAs (circRNAs) in mouse cardiomyocytes during doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity. The expression profiles of circRNAs were significantly altered, with circArhgap12 playing a competitive role among endogenous RNAs in regulating cardiotoxicity. Further analysis revealed that circArhgap12 promoted apoptosis and oxidative stress by sponging miR-135a-5p, suggesting a potential therapeutic target in doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity.

Summary: In hybrid plants, heterosis produces high-yielding large plants, but generating hybrid seeds is costly. Apomixis, asexual reproduction via seeds, could revolutionize plant biology. Synthetic apomixis has enabled clonal reproduction of rice hybrids, but the inheritance and stability of the trait remained unclear. This study investigated the genetic and molecular stability of clonal plants for multiple generations, confirming the stable transmission of the synthetic apomixis trait and suggesting the feasibility of using apomixis in the future.

Summary: In this study, 15 domestication regions (DRs) in the rice genome were identified using wild and cultivated rice accessions. The closely affiliated wild accessions of temperate japonica came mainly from southern China, while those of tropical japonica came from China and India. Similarly, the closely affiliated wild accessions of indica rice came from Southeast Asia, China, and India. The results provide valuable insights into the origin and domestication history of Asian cultivated rice.

Summary: There has been limited research on the influence of vulcanized characteristics, especially cross-linking density, on the dynamic shear behavior of vulcanized rubber. This study uses molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the impact of different cross-linking densities on the dynamic shear behavior of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). The results show a significant drop in the storage modulus when the strain amplitude exceeds 0.1, attributed to polymer bond fractures and decreased molecular chain flexibility. Higher cross-linking densities impede molecular chain motion and increase the storage modulus of SBR. The results are verified through comparisons with existing literature.

Summary: In this study, carbonized polymer dots (CPDs) were successfully introduced onto the surface of LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 (NCM811) cathodes to improve their interfacial stability and cycling performance. The CPDs formed strong covalent bonds with transition metal ions at the NCM811 surface, preventing surface structure degradation and transition metal ion dissolution. As a result, the NCM811@1 wt% CPDs exhibited enhanced cycling performance with a capacity retention of 89.77% after 100 cycles at 0.5 C compared to 55.39% of the bare NCM811. This facile and effective surface decoration strategy provides valuable guidance for improving the stability and cycling performance of Ni-rich cathodes.

Summary: FAM50A is upregulated in multiple types of common cancer tissues and its elevated expression is associated with poor prognosis and immune cell infiltration. Promoter hypomethylation may contribute to FAM50A upregulation. Inhibition of FAM50A expression leads to DNA damage, induction of interferon beta and interleukin-6 expression, and suppression of cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and migration.
