Summary: In the current context of scarcity of resources and environmental degradation, the circular economy provides a sustainable and regenerative framework for agriculture. However, its comprehensive adaptation to the field of agriculture is still lacking. This research aims to bridge this gap by analyzing existing literature on circularity in agricultural production systems, identifying weaknesses and proposing new research directions.

Summary: In order to meet food demand in 2050, global agricultural output needs to expand by 70%. The circular economy is a revolutionary concept in the modern agricultural sector that can provide more accessible and practical solutions. This study examines the adoption of a circularity strategy among farmers and its links to agricultural education, finding that agricultural education plays a crucial role in promoting circular agriculture.

Summary: This study analyzes the relationship between entrepreneurship, innovation, socio-economic development, and circularity progress in the European Union countries. The empirical findings suggest that entrepreneurship, innovation, and socio-economic development significantly affect the circularity rate, while polluting entrepreneurship has a negative association with circularity. Research and development and economic growth also have positive impacts on circularity, and the human development index is important in the circularity process.

Summary: The study found that investors are skeptical about sustainable innovations, while customers are more accepting and willing to get involved; Sustainable entrepreneurs are advised to ensure that the underlying business case of their firm is as well developed as the product itself; The main barrier hindering the success of some sustainable innovations is not their cost, but the tendency of human nature to delay change until problems become critical; Currently, investing in sustainable innovations is more attractive in regions with positive sustainability regulations such as California and some European countries.

Summary: The purpose of this paper is to comprehensively examine local food entrepreneurs (LFE) and their success drivers and barriers in a specific U.S. geographic region's local food system (LFS). The LFS has seen an increase in entrepreneurial involvement over the past few decades, encompassing production, distribution, and retail of local ag-related products and services. The LFS is complex, with entrepreneurs facing entry barriers and struggling to maintain long-term success. Through recorded interviews in the Missouri Ozark region, emergent themes, categorical themes, and over-riding themes were identified, providing new insights into the entrepreneurial mindset of LFEs in the LFS.

Summary: The regeneration of soil organic carbon (SOC), especially particulate organic carbon (POC) and mineral-associated organic carbon (MAOC), is crucial for sustainable agricultural production and mitigation of global warming. Through a systematic meta-analysis, we found that regenerative management practices such as no-till and cropping system intensification can increase SOC (11.3% and 12.4%, respectively), MAOC (8.5% and 7.1%, respectively), and POC (19.7% and 33.3%, respectively) in the topsoil (0 to 20 cm). The effects of regenerative management are influenced by experimental duration, tillage frequency, intensification type, and rotation diversity. Moreover, the combination of no-till with integrated crop-livestock (ICL) systems and cropping intensification with ICL systems can greatly enhance POC (38.1%) and MAOC (33.1 to 53.6%), respectively. These findings highlight the importance of regenerative agriculture in reducing soil carbon deficit, promoting soil health, and achieving long-term carbon stabilization.

Summary: There is evidence to suggest that chronic stress impacts neurochemical homeostasis and contributes to mental disorders. This study investigates the therapeutic potential of p-coumaric acid (p-CA), a natural compound found in vegetables and fruits, against stress-associated mental disorders. The findings suggest that p-CA could alleviate cognitive deficits and depression-like behavior in mice exposed to chronic restraint stress (CRS) by regulating the PKA-CREB-BDNF signaling pathway.

Summary: Social stress plays a significant role in the development of neuropsychiatric disorders and can lead to behavioral deficits such as social withdrawal. This study investigates the impact of social stress on social reward in Syrian hamsters. The results show that subordinate and socially defeated males have reduced motivation for social interactions compared to dominant males. Additionally, winning males exhibit greater activation in the mesolimbic dopamine system compared to losers. In females, there were no differences in social entries between winners and losers, but winning females display more activation in the NAc shell.

Summary: This PROSPERO pre-registered systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the olfactory and gustatory changes in pregnant individuals. The meta-analysis revealed that pregnant individuals performed poorer in odour identification, rated olfactory stimuli to be more intense during the second and third trimester, and had increased pleasantness for sweet taste in the first trimester. No major difference was observed in terms of gustatory functions between pregnant and non-pregnant subjects.
