Summary: In this study, CT scans of 110 patients with COVID-19 pneumonia were analyzed to determine the manifestations and evolution patterns. The most common initial CT findings were bilateral multifocal subpleural ground-glass opacities, and the predominant evolution pattern observed was type 2, characterized by disease progression followed by improvement on follow-up CT scans.

Summary: Our study on the case fatality risk of COVID-19 in mainland China found that the national CFR was 5.65%, with the highest in Wuhan (7.71%) and lowest in provinces outside Hubei (0.86%). Critical patients had a 3.6 times higher fatality risk compared to all patients, and the risk was between 0.8 to 10.3 times higher than that of mild-to-severe patients. Older age and being male were identified as risk factors for mortality. Additionally, time intervals from symptom onset to first healthcare consultation, to laboratory confirmation, and to hospitalization were longer for deceased patients than for those who recovered.

Summary: The article discusses the emergence of the novel coronavirus pandemic in China, detailing the country's response with two phases of containment strategy, key areas of focus, and future considerations. It also describes specific strategies used by China for risk assessment, resource prioritization, and public health interventions at different risk levels, as well as challenges faced in terms of societal involvement, logistics, and supply chains. Finally, the methods China is taking to cautiously restart social life and economic activity are outlined.

Summary: At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, CDC developed a Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel for SARS-CoV-2 detection, but encountered issues with false-positive reactions in N1 and N3 components. An internal investigation revealed that contamination with a synthetic template caused false reactivity in N1, while base pairing between probe and primer led to false reactivity in N3. These findings prompted improvements in quality control, assurance, and validation practices at CDC.

Summary: Brucellosis is a significant zoonotic disease with non-specific symptoms that are often overlooked and misdiagnosed in clinical practice. This case report highlights a misdiagnosis of brucellosis as COVID-19/influenza during strict COVID-19 control measures, leading to delayed treatment. Neglecting other diseases due to the COVID-19 pandemic and empirical diagnosis and treatment by medical staff contribute to misdiagnosis. Additionally, normal ESR, increased WBC, and increased NEUT also played a role in misdiagnosis, emphasizing the importance of considering brucellosis in patients with fever of unknown origin and related symptoms, especially those from endemic areas. Screening for brucellosis should be prioritized, and healthcare professionals should follow standardized diagnostic criteria based on epidemiological history, clinical manifestations, and laboratory tests.

Summary: According to this study, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the mental health of parents. However, no detailed study on the mental health status of parents has been conducted to date. The study found that factors such as female family roles, higher levels of education, unemployed or jobless status, children not being an only child, and children having negative attitudes toward online courses are more likely to cause anxiety symptoms in parents.
