Summary: Apoptosis is a coordinated cellular process that occurs in several physiological situations, and dysregulation of apoptosis has been documented in numerous pathological situations, particularly cancer. Non-coding RNAs regulate apoptosis via different mechanisms, and in lung cancer, these RNAs interact with important cancer-related pathways to influence cell fate. Over-expression of apoptosis-blocking non-coding RNAs has been associated with poor prognosis in patients, while apoptosis-promoting ones have the opposite effect.

Summary: Cervical cancer (CC) is a common cancer among women worldwide, with high rates of morbidity and mortality. ncRNAs, such as miRNAs and lncRNAs, have been found to play important roles in CC progression by targeting and modulating the expression of proteins involved in signaling pathways. Understanding these interactions can guide CC treatment by assisting with diagnosis, drug administration, and prognosis prediction.

Summary: Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally, and the TGF-beta family of growth factors and miRNA play critical roles in its development. Recent research suggests that TGF-beta signaling directly affects the synthesis of miRNA, ultimately influencing the fate of cancer cells. Understanding the key functions of miRNA in lung cancer progression and its impact on the TGF-beta signaling pathway can help identify potential therapeutic targets for improving lung cancer treatment.

Summary: Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), including lncRNAs and miRNAs, play significant regulatory roles in skin cancer pathogenesis, impacting key signaling pathways and gene expression. Dysregulation of miRNAs affects cell cycle regulation, cellular differentiation, and immunological responses in skin cancer. In addition, ncRNAs have potential as diagnostic biomarkers and prognostic indicators, and unraveling their regulatory networks offers groundbreaking opportunities for targeted therapies in dermatologic care.

Summary: This study found that the TGF-ss pathway promotes cervical cancer metastasis through upregulation of CDR1as, which facilitates the stabilization of SLUG mRNA by regulating IGF2BP1. Additionally, CDR1as activates TGF-ss signaling factors known to promote EMT. These findings highlight the significance of the TGF-ss pathway in cervical cancer metastasis.

Summary: Cancer onset and progression are influenced by immune system dysregulation, with noncoding RNAs playing a role in cancer cell immune escape and modulation of the tumor microenvironment. While immunotherapy holds promise for cancer treatment, efforts are needed to achieve cure for immune-refractory tumors.

Summary: The Notch pathway plays a crucial role in cell proliferation, differentiation, development, and tissue homeostasis, and is also involved in regulating stem cell properties and cancer cell metastasis. Various long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and microRNAs (miRNAs) interact with the Notch signaling cascade, playing important functional roles in both cancer and non-neoplastic conditions.

Summary: This review summarizes the impact of extracellular vesicles (EVs) on the transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) signaling pathway in cancer. The cargo of EVs, including various molecules associated with TGF-beta pathway, can influence tumorigenesis, metastatic spread, immune evasion, and response to treatment. Additionally, TGF-beta-related molecules in circulating EVs show potential as useful biomarkers for prognosis, diagnosis, and treatment response in cancer patients.

Summary: Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease with a high degree of diversity between and within tumors. Various factors influence its prevalence, and early diagnosis and optimal management are crucial for reducing mortality. Nanotechnology, specifically the use of nanomaterial properties for drug delivery mechanisms, is showing promise in breast cancer treatment. Exosomes, a type of nanovesicles, are emerging as novel tools for diagnosing and treating breast cancer.
