Summary: This study aimed to assess the feasibility of objectively measuring posture and explore the relationship between posture and affect in breast cancer survivors with persistent postsurgical pain during a 12-week Qigong training. The preliminary findings provide support for considering emotions and patient-centered outcomes in an embodied framework, and highlight the potential of Qigong as an intervention for addressing complex biopsychosocial interventions such as persistent postsurgical pain in breast cancer survivors.

Summary: Weight changes after breast cancer diagnosis are associated with adverse health outcomes. Factors such as tumor characteristics, BMI, and age influence weight change patterns. Moderate weight loss or gain, as well as extreme weight loss, are associated with a higher risk of all-cause mortality. Higher BMI at diagnosis is also linked to increased all-cause mortality.

Summary: The purpose of this review is to evaluate the efficacy of aquatic therapeutic exercise in female breast cancer survivors for improving fatigue, pain, lymphedema, and quality of life. A systematic literature review was conducted, and ten randomized controlled trials with 606 participants were included. The results suggest that aquatic therapeutic exercise is effective in reducing fatigue, pain, and improving quality of life, although the effects on lymphedema remain uncertain. The methodological quality of the studies was high, and no adverse effects were reported.

Summary: This paper discusses the growing problem of persistent pain after successful breast cancer treatment and presents recommendations for improving pain-related outcomes. The authors compare the dominant treatment approach for persistent pain post-breast cancer treatment with contemporary treatment approaches for noncancer-related persistent pain. They emphasize the potential role of pain science education in improving pain and disability outcomes after successful breast cancer treatment. The paper also provides research recommendations for adapting pain science education to the post-breast cancer context.

Summary: Patients with KRAS-mutant NSCLC have a high propensity to develop brain metastases. Adagrasib has shown penetration into the cerebrospinal fluid and demonstrated antitumor activity in multiple preclinical models, supporting its potential clinical activity in the brain for patients with KRASG12C-mutant NSCLC and untreated brain metastases.

Summary: In a phase 2 clinical trial, pembrolizumab, a PD-1 inhibitor, demonstrated safety and efficacy in patients with high-grade meningiomas. The study achieved its primary endpoint of 6 months progression-free survival and showed promising efficacy in a subset of these tumors. Further research is needed to identify the biological factors that drive response to immune-based therapies in meningioma.

Summary: Voice analysis is an emerging technology that can provide low-cost, at-home monitoring of symptoms related to various health conditions. This study investigates the relationship between changes in voice acoustic features and self-reported symptoms during recovery from a flu-like illness, and suggests that acoustic features derived from voice recordings may serve as an objective measure for diagnosing and monitoring respiratory illnesses.

Summary: Gastrointestinal immune-related adverse events caused by immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) often require interruption of cancer treatment. This study examined the clinical features and treatment outcomes of ICI gastritis. It was found that ICI gastritis can occur alone or more commonly with concurrent enteritis/colitis, with different clinical courses. Gastric biopsies are necessary to diagnose clinically significant cases with normal endoscopic appearance. Most patients with isolated gastritis can continue ICI therapy uninterrupted, but some may require glucocorticoids.

Summary: With the successful development of immune checkpoint blockade, the addition of granulocyte-macrophage-CSF (GM-CSF) has been shown to improve efficacy and decrease adverse events. The presence of ICOS+CD4+ or ICOS+CD8+ T cells in the peripheral blood is significantly higher in patients treated with ipilimumab plus GM-CSF compared to those treated with ipilimumab alone. Soluble ICOS splice variants have suppressive effects and can serve as a biomarker for GM-CSF and immune checkpoint blockade-based therapies.

Summary: By studying 51 newly diagnosed DLBCL cases, it was found that the organization of tumor and immune cells can be modeled by 6 composite cell neighborhood types (CNTs) and divided into immune-deficient, DC-enriched, and Mac-enriched TIMEs. Through the analysis of this organization structure, the cellular composition and spatial distribution characteristics of DLBCL can be understood.

Summary: This study reveals a previously unrecognized heterogeneity in the gene expression of Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) and identifies an inverse correlation between neuroendocrine gene expression and the Hippo pathway transcription factors YAP1 and WWTR1. The expression of YAP1 or WWTR1 induces cell-cycle arrest in MCPyV-positive MCC cell lines through the TEAD-dependent repression of MCPyV LT. These findings shed light on the development of MCPyV-positive MCC and have implications for diagnosis and potential therapeutic interventions.
