Summary: This study conducted a formative research and feasibility evaluation of a behavioral intervention designed to improve latrine use in rural India. The intervention involved a pledge and small incentives to engage villagers. The feasibility study showed that the intervention was successful in improving latrine use, and identified important factors such as convenience, relief, comfort, construction cost, and safety influencing latrine use in the context of prevalent open defecation. The intervention was refined based on the study results.

Summary: The involvement of external agencies in funding, planning, and implementation of community-based adaptation projects in Bangladesh negatively impacts the principles of CBA, leading NGO-initiated interventions to repeat past mistakes. To ensure future initiatives align with and prioritize community needs, it is essential to deconstruct NGO interventions and provide flexible funding, planning, and implementation structures.

Summary: This study used focused ethnography to explore the strategies used by community health workers (CHWs) in rural Bangladesh to gain family support for improving maternal nutrition and breastfeeding practices. The study found that CHWs strategically used rhetorical principles such as credibility, emotion, and logic to persuade influential family members. The findings highlight the importance of targeted CHW training and monitoring to address scientifically flawed counseling narratives.

Summary: Community Health Workers in rural Bangladesh successfully implemented an intervention integrating various components for maternal and child health. Challenges included the complexity of behavioral recommendations and distractions during group sessions, but strategies were identified to strengthen intervention-delivery and allow for scale-up. Iterative revisions based on qualitative evaluation findings could facilitate feasible delivery by CHWs.

Summary: This study evaluated the feasibility and preliminary effects of a dietary behavior change intervention on managing sarcopenic obesity among community-dwelling older people. The intervention resulted in reductions in body weight and improvements in dietary quality. Positive trends were observed in handgrip strength, gait speed, and waist circumference. However, there was a decrease in skeletal muscle mass index in the intervention group. Further investigation is needed to understand this subtle difference. The study highlights the potential for dietary behavior change interventions in community healthcare.

Summary: In this article, we critically reflect on a conservation project in the Ecuadorian Amazon that aimed to promote biodiversity conservation among lowland indigenous communities involved in eco-tourism initiatives. Through interpretive qualitative research and social practice theory, we examine how participants' engagement with new knitting in participatory workshops transformed their understanding of environmental conservation and social entrepreneurship in an eco-tourism context. Ultimately, the intervention led to the adoption of new and unsustainable conservation and entrepreneurial practices, turning animals into commodities and creating a disconnect between local and traditional knowledge.
