Summary: Sample size and change score variability influence the necessary anchor correlation strength when recovering individual-level responder definitions. Stronger correlations than 0.30 are required when using the mean change method.

Summary: This study aimed to define clinically meaningful thresholds associated with patient satisfaction for primary knee arthroplasties. The study analyzed patient-reported outcome measures and found that changes in pain, quality of life, knee functionality, and other factors were related to satisfaction. Patients with more severe preoperative symptoms required larger changes to report satisfaction.

Summary: The study evaluated the effect of dupilumab on patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, showing significant improvements in symptoms and objective outcomes compared to placebo.

Summary: This article reviews current triangulation approaches and provides robust recommendations. A correlation-weighted average of MCT estimates is recommended to triangulate multiple estimates into a single value. Different MCTs designed for between-group differences, within-group changes, and within-individual changes should be considered separately.

Summary: This article presents a novel approach, using longitudinal item response theory (LIRT), for estimating meaningful within-individual change (MWIC) for multi-item scales. Compared to traditional methods, the LIRT approach provides more robust and accurate MWIC estimates, addressing the issues of floor/ceiling effects and measurement error.

Summary: The Australian Treatment Outcomes Profile (ATOP) is a clinical outcomes tool widely used in the Australian alcohol and other drugs treatment sector. This study determined clinically meaningful change thresholds for substance use and health and wellbeing variables in the ATOP, providing guidance for clinicians in monitoring client progress and service evaluation.

Summary: The study validates the K-BILD questionnaire as a reliable tool for assessing health-related quality of life in patients with progressive fibrosing ILD, and establishes a meaningful change threshold for interpreting treatment response. This has important implications for understanding patients' response to treatment and disease progression.

Summary: This study explores the patient experience of advanced or metastatic NSCLC and their perspective on meaningful changes in symptoms. Patients indicated that a one-point change on the symptom scale is considered meaningful, whether it is an improvement or worsening.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to compare the performance of different anchor-based methods for estimating thresholds of meaningful within-patient change in small to medium-sized clinical trials. The results showed that the predictive modeling method performed best with normally distributed data, while the median method and ROC method had advantages with skewed distributions. The improvement percentage condition had the most obvious effects on estimation bias.

Summary: The objective of this study was to explore the relationship between objective cough frequency and cough-specific patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and estimate a clinically meaningful change threshold (MCT) for objective cough frequency. The results showed significant but low to moderate correlations between 24-h cough frequency and cough-specific PROs. A >= 30% reduction in 24-h cough frequency was suggested as a reasonable MCT to define treatment response in chronic cough clinical trials.

Summary: Rainfall and seismic activity are important triggers for mass movements, and their correlations with historical records can provide estimates of the probability of occurrence. Characteristics of rainfall and seismic activity have impacts on decision-making and planning of natural and anthropic resources. These triggers can vary under climate change conditions.

Summary: This paper presents a case example of qualitative research using productive hermeneutics and the central concept of fusion of horizons. The purpose is to expand understanding without establishing a rigid methodology. The research is based on in-depth observational and textual data from an applied anthropological study in western Alaska, and utilizes the metaphor of the hermeneutical circle for meaningful interpretation, describing a series of organizing systems.

Summary: This study proposed a modified QALY calculation method that incorporates the minimally important difference (MID) in health-related quality of life change scores. Results from different QALY calculation methods showed that adjusting for meaningful HRQL changes can lead to different outcomes.

Summary: This study examined the health-related quality of life trajectories in older adults with diabetes mellitus using a mixed method approach. The results identified four distinctive trajectories: high then decrease, high stable, medium stable, and low then increase. These trajectories differed in attitudes towards diabetes, self-management of diabetes-related tasks, comorbidity-related health-related quality of life, coping with diabetes, and financial concerns about medical needs.
