Summary: This study uses discrete choice experiment and latent class analysis to identify the heterogeneous preferences of potential users of 3D-printed prosthetic hands based on their daily lifestyle patterns. The results show that consumers have different group-wise preferences for different types of prosthetics. Those who spend more time at home are less concerned about weight and dexterity compared to younger individuals who spend more time outside. Therefore, the development of 3D-printed prosthetic hands should focus on reducing weight and increasing functionality.

Summary: In this paper, we propose an approach for navigating a robotic wheelchair that offers users various levels of autonomy and navigation capabilities, tailored to their individual needs and preferences. We focus on three main aspects: egocentric computer vision based motion control, enabling hands-free initiation of autonomous navigation, and a framework that learns to navigate the wheelchair based on user criteria and preferences. These contributions are evaluated through qualitative and quantitative user studies, demonstrating their effectiveness. The studies were conducted with healthy subjects, indicating potential for clinical testing of the proposed technology.

Summary: This article continues and extends research on a novel approach to classifying and recognizing EEG signals for controlling a mobile robot using Emotiv Epoc Flex Gel and MyoWare Muscle Sensor. The study successfully verifies pure mental commands without muscle contractions and detects artifacts and muscle tensions to change the robot's movement. The proposed method combines a classic classification algorithm with an artificial neural network for meticulous analysis of the EEG signal.

Summary: Intelligent user interfaces (IUI) aim to improve the user experience of human-computer interaction (HCI) with the help of artificial intelligence. This study examines and synthesizes the latest work in the field of IUI, with a focus on evaluation. It found that adaptation, representation, and intelligence are key characteristics of IUIs, and that most evaluations show partial or complete improvement in usability or UX. However, there is a lack of evaluation tools, methods, and metrics tailored for IUI.

Summary: During software maintenance, continuous correction and enhancement activities are required. This often leads to high costs and time consumption, surpassing the initial developmental expenses. To manage software development and maintenance better, various measures of maintainability have been proposed. The Maintainability Index is commonly used to quantitatively assess the ease of software maintenance. An experiment conducted on 45 Java-based object-oriented software systems showed that the choice of maintainability index variant could impact the perception of maintainability. However, despite different values among variants, they were strongly positively correlated and generally indicated similar trends in maintainability evolution.
