Summary: The study in Lithuania found that effective alcohol control policies were associated with a decrease in adult all-cause mortality, with measures such as increased taxation showing a significant impact. China's Changing Alcohol Market and Need for an Enhanced Policy Response: A Narrative Review

Alcohol marketing, accessibility, and affordability have become increasingly prominent. Improved strategies and measures are urgently needed to reduce harmful alcohol use in China.

Barriers and Facilitators to the Implementation of Effective Alcohol Control Policies: A Scoping Review

Online alcohol delivery is associated with heavier drinking during the first New Zealand COVID-19 pandemic restrictions

Summary: During the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions in New Zealand, around 75% of respondents purchased alcohol from supermarkets, while 40% used online alcohol delivery services (18% for the first time during COVID-19). Purchasing online alcohol delivery during the restrictions was associated with heavier drinking in the past week, and 58% of online purchasers under 25 reported no age checks. Sixteen percent of those purchasing online repeat ordered online to keep drinking after running out, and 56% reported that alcohol was easier to get delivered than fresh food when trying to buy online.
