Summary: Recent research on climate policy in the EU has been conducted in collaboration with stakeholders, exploring future scenarios and current achievements. The study indicates that while Europe is making progress towards its pre-2020 emissions reduction targets, it still faces challenges in reaching its ambitious 55% emissions cuts goal by 2030. Furthermore, the deployment of carbon capture and storage, as well as the diffusion of hydrogen, are crucial factors for deeper emissions cuts in the future.

Nanomedicine, a specific arm of nanotechnology, focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of various diseases. However, the concept of nanotoxicology has also emerged as a crucial aspect of nanomedicine. More research is needed to identify potential adverse effects and ensure the safety of nanomedicines.

Muscle invasive bladder cancer: where is the field headed?

Summary: The standard treatment for muscle-invasive bladder cancer is cisplatin-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by radical cystectomy. For patients ineligible for radical cystectomy, trimodal therapy with chemoradiation is an option. However, there are ongoing clinical trials investigating the use of immune checkpoint inhibitors and antibody-drug conjugates in the neoadjuvant setting for cisplatin ineligible patients. Early data also suggest that combining immune checkpoint inhibitors with radiation therapy or chemoradiation may be safe and effective.

Lung function measurements in preclinical research: What has been done and where is it headed?

Summary: Due to the close interaction of lung morphology and functions, repeatable measurements of pulmonary function during longitudinal studies on lung pathophysiology and treatment efficacy have been a great area of interest for lung researchers. Spirometry and plethysmography techniques are the most common lung function tests, but they only provide global readouts and cannot provide regional information. Recent advances in imaging-based techniques offer non-invasive methods for regional quantification of lung function.

However, it is argued that further improvements are needed in terms of rule of law, public participation, and responsiveness to new standards and rules in the construction of China's Global Maritime Capital.

Quantum Circuit Rules for Molecular Electronic Systems: Where Are We Headed Based on the Current Understanding of Quantum Interference, Thermoelectric, and Molecular Spintronics Phenomena?

Summary: This minireview discusses important aspects of quantum phenomena in single-molecule charge transport and the basic circuit rules devised for different molecular systems. While a universal circuit law for predicting charge transport properties has not been derived yet, having such a law could lead to the design of complex molecular devices with unique applications not possible with traditional silicon-based technologies. The discussion in this review suggests possible future research directions for deriving unified circuit laws to predict charge transport in complex single-molecule circuits.

Long-term performance research is a future priority.

China's Changing Alcohol Market and Need for an Enhanced Policy Response: A Narrative Review

Online alcohol delivery is associated with heavier drinking during the first New Zealand COVID-19 pandemic restrictions

Summary: During the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions in New Zealand, around 75% of respondents purchased alcohol from supermarkets, while 40% used online alcohol delivery services (18% for the first time during COVID-19). Purchasing online alcohol delivery during the restrictions was associated with heavier drinking in the past week, and 58% of online purchasers under 25 reported no age checks. Sixteen percent of those purchasing online repeat ordered online to keep drinking after running out, and 56% reported that alcohol was easier to get delivered than fresh food when trying to buy online.
