Summary: The study aimed to quantitatively assess the effectiveness of microneedle mesotherapy in reducing skin discoloration using the gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) method. The skin of 12 women aged 29 to 68 was examined, and microneedle mesotherapy using a preparation containing 12% ascorbic acid was performed. The effectiveness of the treatment was quantified using image analysis and processing methods.

Summary: Arbutin, a compound of hydroquinone and D-glucose, has been studied for over 30 years for its skin lightening action. Research has focused on its mechanism of action, efficacy, safety, and potential synergies with other compounds. Studies also suggest that arbutin's antioxidant properties may contribute to its skin depigmenting effects. Future research may lead to advanced skin lightening and protecting cosmetic products.

Summary: In this study, the combination process of BEX with HSA was investigated to understand the transport of the anticancer agent in the circulatory system. The fluorescence spectrum of HSA was found to be quenched by BEX, suggesting the involvement of static quenching process and the formation of the BEX-HSA complex. The binding affinity between BEX and HSA was moderate, and the stabilizing intermolecular forces involved hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonds.

Summary: This study revealed the anticancer potential of PPa extract in HL-60 cells by inhibiting cell proliferation through affecting cell cycle and inducing apoptosis. Moreover, PPa extract could modulate the expression of cell cycle-related proteins and activate apoptosis pathways, leading to cell death.

Summary: This study provides an in-depth analysis of Merkel cells in human fetal skin. It confirms the phenotypical features of these cells and demonstrates their persistence after isolation, in culture, and in skin substitutes. The findings are important for the future application of fetal tissue-engineered skin in clinical settings.

Summary: Osteosarcoma, the most common primary bone malignancy, requires novel treatment strategies for improved patient survival. Repurposed agent dDAVP shows potential anti-tumor activity in osteosarcoma by inhibiting AVPR2-expressing cell growth and raising cAMP levels, suggesting a promising therapeutic tool for managing this aggressive cancer. Further preclinical exploration on orthotopic or metastatic models is warranted to confirm its efficacy.

Summary: In this study, the time characteristics of image quality degradation caused by aero-optical effects in time-varying hypersonic conditions were investigated. A time-accurate imaging scheme based on time discretization was used to predict the imaging quality of the infrared detection system affected by aero-optical effects. Wave aberration, point spread function, and peak signal-to-noise ratio were used as evaluation indicators. The results showed that the degradation of image quality caused by aero-optical transmission effect is not significant during the working process, while the aero-thermal radiation effect rapidly degrades the image quality, predominantly determining the image deterioration.

Summary: This study aimed to characterize the binding mechanism between Enasidenib and human serum albumin (HSA) using experimental and theoretical approaches. The results demonstrated that the binding of Enasidenib and HSA is a spontaneous process driven by electrostatic forces.

Summary: Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a common pigmentary disorder that occurs after skin inflammation or injury. Ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation can worsen PIH by promoting inflammation and melanogenesis in skin cells. Solamargine (SM), a compound extracted from Solanum undatum, has anti-inflammatory and whitening effects on skin cells, making it a potential treatment for PIH.

Summary: Polymyxin B is commonly used to treat drug-resistant gram-negative bacteria, but it can cause side effects such as hyperpigmentation. This case report describes a 68-year-old male patient who developed hyperpigmentation after being treated with polymyxin B for a chest infection. The patient had underlying chronic kidney disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Summary: This study aimed to clarify the mechanisms of drug-drug interactions between warfarin and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) or capecitabine. The results showed that the combination of 5-FU or capecitabine with warfarin enhanced its anticoagulant effects, indicating a pharmacological interaction rather than a pharmacokinetic interaction.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of different optical clearing agents (OCAs) on enhancing skin optical permeability in optical coherence tomography (OCT) images. Results showed that the application of OCAs induced significant changes in both the OCT signal decay rate and epidermal thickness.
