Summary: This study evaluated the pattern of attenuation artifacts on CZT cardiac camera in supine and semi-reclining positions and their interaction with gender, BMI, and stress protocols. The results showed that positional artifacts were more severe and extensive in the semi-reclining position, affecting the apex, apico-inferior, inferolateral, and inferoseptal segments. Females exhibited more positional artifacts, with inferior wall attenuation in the semi-reclining position and anterior wall attenuation in the supine position. There was a positive correlation between the extent and severity of positional artifacts and increasing BMI.

Summary: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death, and myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) plays a central role in risk stratification and prognosis for CAD patients. However, there are limitations to MPI that the referring clinician and managing team must be aware of and use to their advantage.

Summary: The study found that using a CZT gamma camera for MPS has advantages over the conventional gamma camera technique, with better diagnostic performance for detecting myocardial infarct and assessing LV volumes and LVEF. However, the differences between the CZT and conventional gamma camera are small and not clinically significant.

Summary: This study evaluated the performance of BSREM reconstruction technique in quantitation analysis of patients with coronary artery disease. The results showed that BSREM reconstruction method has similar performance to OSEM-TOF-PSF in terms of myocardial blood flow values and diagnosis of ischemia.

Summary: This study compared the efficacy and safety of ischemia-guided non-culprit vessel angioplasty with routine non-culprit vessel angioplasty in patients with multi-vessel disease presenting with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The results showed that ischemia-guided non-culprit PCI resulted in low ischemia burden and was equally effective as routine non-culprit vessel PCI in reducing ischemia burden. This approach may offer cost-savings, particularly in low-resource settings.

Summary: The study found that the diagnostic performance of CT-FFR was significantly inferior in lesions with a calcium arc >180 degrees. An optimized CT-FFR + dynamic CT-MPI strategy, guided by lesion-specific calcium morphology, could reduce radiation dose and contrast medium consumption, and help avoid unnecessary invasive tests for patients.

Summary: Risk stratification and diagnosis in CAD often involve Rb-82 PET, with this study finding that most drugs used for CAD treatment do not affect Rb-82 uptake in healthy rats. However, amiodarone was shown to significantly reduce Rb-82 uptake in the heart, potentially impacting kinetic parameters in clinical evaluation of absolute myocardial blood flow.

Summary: The ISCHEMIA trial showed that an initial invasive strategy did not reduce cardiovascular events or all-cause mortality in patients with stable ischemic heart disease. Procedural MI rates were higher with the invasive strategy compared to conservative strategy, with the use of the secondary MI definition.

Summary: Baicalin exhibits positive effects on myocardial ischemia diseases, achieved by regulating key pathological indicators and various signaling pathways. In animal models of myocardial ischemia, reperfusion injury, and myocardial infarction, baicalin can reduce myocardial infarction size, improve cardiac pathological condition, and enhance heart function indicators.

Summary: The study investigated the relationship between baseline clinical characteristics and post-PCI myocardial perfusion, revealing peak hs-cTnI level as the strongest predictor for decreased myocardial perfusion in stented territories. Factors like AMI, stenotic extent, and NT-pro-BNP were also associated with reduced myocardial perfusion.

Summary: Exosomes, tiny vesicles released from cells, have been shown to play important roles in cardiovascular disease, especially coronary artery disease, by containing various effective constituents like RNA, proteins, and lipids. However, despite the potential, therapeutic exosomes are still a long way from clinical translation. Recent studies on therapeutic exosomes in atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and in-stent restenosis provide new insights into the treatment of CAD.
