The present research procured NiCo2O4 with distinct morphologies using hydro-thermal process for the first time. SEM and XRD have been used to characterize morphology of the synthesized bird nest-like nanostructured NiCo2O4 (BNNS-NiCo2O4). The modified screen-printed electrode with BNNS-NiCo2O4 (BNNS-NiCo2O4/SPE) has been employed to develop a new doxorubicin sensor. It enjoys the catalytic impact on the doxorubicin oxidation current. Differential pulse voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and cyclic voltammetry have been employed for studying the mechanisms of oxidation. According to optimum instrumental and chemical conditions, responses of differential pulse voltammetry of the modified electrode towards doxorubicin exhibited a linear concentration range between 0.01 and 600.0 mu M, having determination limit of 9.4 nM. Acceptable findings were found for detecting doxorubicin with a doxorubicin injection solution and biological specimens. (C) 2019 Published by Elsevier B.V.
