Summary: This study aims to investigate the prevalence, severity, and co-occurrence of SPPADE symptoms, as well as their association with cancer type and patient characteristics. The findings suggest that SPPADE symptoms are prevalent, severe, and commonly co-occur in oncology and other clinical populations. The study highlights the importance of optimizing detection and management of SPPADE symptoms in all types of cancer patients.

Summary: This study identified distinct subgroups of patients with gastrointestinal cancers who experience different levels of sleep disturbance, and found differences among these subgroups in demographic, clinical, and sleep characteristics, as well as co-occurring symptoms and quality of life outcomes. This provides new insights into the associations between sleep disturbance and multiple symptoms in these patients.

Summary: This study investigates the possible associations between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and fatigue, as well as the associations with excessive sleepiness, depression, and anxiety. The study finds that pathological fatigue, anxiety, and depression do not increase with the severity of OSA, while excessive sleepiness does.

Summary: This study investigates sleep quality in juvenile fibromyalgia syndrome (JFS) and its impact on the global burden of the disease. The results show that patients with JFS have longer sleep period time, increased wake after sleep onset, and lower N3 distribution index compared to healthy peers. Subjective poor sleep quality is related to widespread pain, symptom severity, depressive symptoms, fatigue, and symptom severity upon awakening. Sleep complaints are a key characteristic of JFS and have significant effects on pain and depression.

Summary: This study found that colorectal cancer patients with higher levels of depressive and anxiety symptoms experienced greater pain, fatigue, and inflammation. These results emphasize the negative impact that anxiety and depression can have on the physical and biological side effects of colorectal cancer.

Summary: This study aims to explore the relationship between sleep quality and mental health. The results show that lower magnitude of capability is associated with poorer sleep quality, negative pain thoughts, and older age. Greater pain intensity is associated with negative symptom thinking (catastrophic thinking) and not using electronic devices before bed. Poor sleep quality is associated with the use of sleep medication, symptoms of anxiety, and negative symptom thinking. These findings suggest a close relationship between sleep quality and mental health, and improving mental health through focusing on sleep quality.

Summary: This study examined the effects of mindfulness-and acceptance-based interventions (MABIs) on reducing symptoms in individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). The results showed significant effects of MABIs in reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and pain, but a moderate effect on fatigue symptoms. Future high-quality studies with follow-up evaluations are needed to further support these findings and explore intervention features that enhance and sustain effects.

Summary: The study examined the factor structure and correlates of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) in multiple sclerosis patients, finding it to be a reliable and valid self-assessment scale for monitoring the psychiatric and psychological status of patients with MS. The HADS subscales showed good internal consistencies and convergent validity, suggesting its use in clinical monitoring.

Summary: The study found that patients with longer sleep duration had lower levels of depression and anxiety, while patients with shorter sleep duration reported higher levels of fatigue. Additionally, sleep duration was identified as an independent factor associated with depression and anxiety in leukemia patients. Early evaluation and interventions are crucial for leukemia patients with short sleep duration.

Summary: This study identified latent classes of acute stroke patients with distinct experiences of symptom clusters. Three classes, including all high symptom, high psychological disorder, and all low symptom, were identified. The results can help identify high-risk patients and create effective targeted interventions for stroke patients with different symptom clusters.

Summary: This study examined the function of the cardiac, vasomotor, and myocardial branches of the baroreflex in fibromyalgia patients. The results showed that patients had lower baroreflex sensitivity and effectiveness compared to healthy individuals, and these measures were inversely related to clinical pain, depression, anxiety, sleep problems, and fatigue. Dysfunction in all three baroreflex branches suggests impaired autonomic regulation in fibromyalgia, which may contribute to the hyperalgesia and secondary symptoms of the disorder.

Summary: A significant number of cancer survivors struggle to work due to symptoms after treatment. Symptom clusters, including pain, emotional, and cognitive symptoms, have a significant impact on work ability. Older survivors and those with more advanced cancer stages are more likely to experience limitations in their work ability.

Summary: This review examines the associations between sleep and circadian activity patterns during and after pregnancy and postpartum mental health factors. The systematic review and meta-analysis findings suggest that postpartum total sleep at night is closely related to postpartum fatigue and depression. However, more studies are needed to explore the associations between sleep-wake rhythm during pregnancy and postpartum mental health factors.
