Summary: This study investigated the anti-inflammatory effect of garcinol isolated from Garcinia dulcis fruit in LPS-activated THP-1 and Raw 264.7 macrophages. The results showed that garcinol inhibited the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators and affected the NF-kappa B signaling pathway. Therefore, garcinol has the potential to be used as an anti-inflammatory agent for inflammation-related diseases.

Summary: HIV-1 both inhibits and activates the NF-kappa B pathway, which is important for the viral life cycle. The viral protein U has contrasting effects on beta-TrCP1 and beta-TrCP2, leading to dysregulation of the NF-kappa B pathways. These findings enhance our understanding of how the NF-kappa B pathway functions during viral infection.

Summary: The study reveals that UBE2L3 is involved in the degradation of pro-IL-1 beta and its dysregulation leads to excessive production of mature IL-1 beta, causing inflammation and disease. The specific E3 ligases TRIP12 and AREL1 are identified as the partners of UBE2L3 in promoting the ubiquitination of pro-IL-1 beta and its subsequent proteasomal breakdown.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of DnaJ on IL-1 beta expression in macrophages and found that DnaJ modulates macrophages to secrete IL-1 beta by activating NF-kappa B and MAPK signaling pathways. ERK was identified as a positive mediator for IL-1 beta expression, while p38 acted as a negative mediator. Furthermore, the reciprocal actions of MAPKs were found to regulate the activation of inflammasome-related molecules. The study also explored the involvement of CD91/CD40 in ERK signaling-mediated IL-1 beta production from DnaJ-treated macrophages.

Summary: Long-term exposure to respirable silica particles can cause pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis, primarily promoted by cytokines released from alveolar macrophages. This study explored the mechanism of IL-1 beta biosynthesis and release from the perspective of nuclear factor kappa B (NE-kappa B). The results showed that silica nanoparticles (SiNPs) were internalized by macrophages, leading to cell damage. SiNPs exposure enhanced the expression of IL-1 beta and NE-kappa B, but this effect could be suppressed by BAY 11-7082, an NF-kappa B specific inhibitor. Animal experiments confirmed that silica exposure caused pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis, along with pathological changes in lung tissue.

Summary: The inflammatory response is a protective process against infectious pathogens, with miRNAs playing important regulatory roles in this process. MiR-148 is shown to regulate IL-1 beta in lower vertebrates' inflammatory response, participating in the NF-kappa B signaling pathway induced by LPS.

Summary: The study found that curcumenol inhibits the progression of inflammation and reduces the expression levels of key proteins induced by TNF-alpha and IL-1 beta, improving cellular abnormalities. Additionally, curcumenol also slows down the metabolic deterioration and degradation of cartilage, protecting joint cartilage. The anti-inflammatory and osteoarthritis-improving effects of curcumenol were confirmed in a mouse model.

Summary: Dendritic epidermal T cells (DETCs) are the primary source of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) in epidermal tissue, promoting re-epithelialization and wound healing. IL-1 beta inhibits IGF-1 expression in DETCs through the let-7f-5p pathway, resulting in delayed wound healing.

Summary: By studying the impact of XPO1 gene mutation on protein function, it was found that the mutation renders lymphoma cells more sensitive to SINEs drugs. Additionally, the mutation also leads to mistrafficking of transcription factors between the nucleus and cytoplasm, affecting the response to ibrutinib.
