Summary: This research aims to investigate the implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in order to improve the ability to realize outstanding value. Through a qualitative case study, it identifies five considerations for understanding the realization of benefits from ERP implementation and aligns them with activities suggested by benefits management literature. The research suggests that while benefits management is a good practice, it may be ineffective in addressing the benefits that emerge when integrating ERP systems with modern digital technologies. It advocates revisiting current benefits management techniques or improving the implementation of digital technologies by incorporating benefits management concepts and principles.

Summary: Difficulty in financing and low financing efficiency is a bottleneck for the high-quality development of China's energy-saving and environmental protection industry. This paper examines the financing efficiency of 205 Chinese energy-saving and environmental protection industries using data envelopment analysis and the Malmquist index. It finds that there is room for improving financing efficiency in the future and identifies different financing methods' efficiency levels. The study also highlights the significant impact of factors such as digital transformation and green technological innovation on financing efficiency.

Summary: Groundwater depletion is a major challenge for global food and environmental security. Through a meta-analysis and a case study, we investigated the issue in three major agricultural regions. The study revealed that groundwater depletion is particularly severe in important food production areas such as the High Plains of the United States, the Ganges Plains of India, and the North China Plain, resulting in a 262.5 mm gap between crop water demand and rainfall. The long-term field experiment in the North China Plain showed that factor adjustment within the traditional system and systematic changes in crop rotation can achieve sustainable groundwater use and high calorie yield with low environmental impacts. These findings are essential for achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

Summary: Biodegradable polymers have attracted significant attention due to their environmentally friendly compostability. However, challenges remain for their practical application in packaging, particularly in addressing gas/moisture barrier issues. Various strategies have been researched for decades to overcome these challenges, such as chain architecture tailoring, crystallinity, melt blending/multi-layer co-extrusion, nanotechnology, and surface coating. This review focuses on improving the oxygen/water vapor barrier properties of biodegradable polymers and discusses the limitations of current methods and potential solutions.

Summary: An evaluation was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the Support, Educate, Empower (SEE) glaucoma coaching program in improving medication adherence among poorly adherent patients with glaucoma. The study found that medication adherence decreased in the year after the program ended but remained higher than baseline adherence. The findings suggest that intermittent reinforcement sessions might be necessary to maintain long-term medication adherence.

Summary: A growing number of Americans enrolled in high-deductible health plans (HDHPs) face challenges in managing their out-of-pocket costs and often delay or forgo needed care due to cost. This study aimed to assess preferences among HDHP enrollees with chronic conditions for a novel behavioral intervention that supports the use of cost-conscious strategies when seeking health care. Findings suggest that interventions delivered through a web-based modality, specifically a website or phone app, that assist patients in comparing prices for services at different locations are most valued and desired.
