Summary: In this study, a 3D porous scaffold was prepared by incorporating citrate functionalized amorphous calcium phosphate into a polytetrahydrofuran based polyurethane scaffold. The obtained scaffold exhibited high porosity, appropriate pore size, and sufficient mechanical strength for cell adhesion and structural support. The scaffold also showed excellent antibacterial properties and biocompatibility, making it a potential candidate for minimally invasive alveolar bone regeneration.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different powers of Er:YAG laser on the shear bond strength of repaired CAD/CAM resin-based composite materials. The results showed that increasing laser power can improve the bond strength, with the 3 W laser treatment leading to adhesive failure. Additionally, the 3 W laser treatment resulted in smoother surfaces compared to other laser treatments.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the efficacy of airborne-particle abrasion and/or a primer in the repair of composite resin-veneered PEEK prostheses. Results showed that repaired composite resin-veneered PEEK restorations with airborne particle abrasion and/or primer can provide shear bond strength (SBS) comparable to the initial SBS, with significantly lower SBS values in the negative control group without airborne-particle abrasion.

Summary: This in vitro study compared the shear bond strength and antibacterial efficacy of an orthodontic adhesive containing cinnamon or titanium dioxide nanoparticles. The results showed that incorporating either cinnamon or TiO2 nanoparticles into the adhesive improved its antibacterial effects without compromising the bond strength. However, TiO2 nanoparticles had a significantly higher antibacterial effect compared to cinnamon nanoparticles.

Summary: Occasional chipping can still occur with zirconia material despite its high strength. Emergency repairs can be accomplished using zirconia primer, adhesive agent, and resin composite when the fracture of zirconia exposes the zirconia framework. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of multiple applications of phosphate-containing primer on shear bond strength between zirconia and resin composite. The results showed that treating sandblasted zirconia surfaces with three applications of phosphate-containing primer prior to the adhesive agent maximized shear bond strength at zirconia and resin composite interfaces.

Summary: This work investigates the effects of femtosecond laser irradiation and doping with plasmonic gold nanorods on the conversion degree of a urethane dimethacrylate-triethylene glycol dimethacrylate nanocomposite. It is found that the presence of gold nanorods alone can increase the conversion degree of the photopolymer. The combination of femtosecond laser impulses and nanorod doping shows the best results.

Summary: Metal ions, like nickel, are strongly bound to amino acids and form metal complexes with different geometric structures. The formation of histidine-nickel (II) complex was examined under different conditions using Raman spectroscopy. Additionally, density functional theory calculations were performed to understand the formation mechanism and optimal geometry of the complex. The Raman measurements showed specific peaks that belong to the metal complex. The alkaline pH favored complex formation, while the concentration of metal ions had no effect on the formation of the histidine-nickel (II) complex.

Summary: The impact of heating and cooling cycles on a copolymer mixture of urethane dimethacrylate (UDMA) and triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA), with and without gold nanorod doping, was studied using in-situ Raman spectroscopy. The degree of conversion (DC) of the polymer was calculated based on the peak intensities of specific vibration bands. The influence of various factors on the calculated DC, such as gold nanorods, thermal cycles, excitation wavelength, and reference peak selection, was analyzed in detail.

Summary: The study compared the bacteria debridement efficacy of the first and second generations of sonic root canal irrigant activation systems. The results showed that activation of 2% NaOCl with either EndoActivator or SmartLite Pro EndoActivator significantly reduced the overall intracanal bacterial load compared to syringe-side-vented needle delivery. However, delivering 2% NaOCl for 5 minutes using the syringe-side-vented needle produced better bacteria debridement than either sonic agitation system.

Summary: The study compares the experience of patients seen using teledentistry with traditional Orofacial Pain and TMD visits. Results indicated a borderline difference in effectively using teledentistry for follow-ups among different age groups, but no significant differences were found in patients' experience between virtual and conventional visits. This suggests that high-quality dental care services can be provided remotely without adversely affecting patient experience or quality of care.

Summary: This study characterized the surface topography and evaluated the biological responses of various cells to a novel 3D-printed dental implant. The surface of the implant showed a highly interconnected porous architecture and roughness, leading to good adhesion and growth of human oral osteoblasts, gingival fibroblasts, mesenchymal stem cells, and monocytes. These findings suggest that this 3D-printed implant has excellent potential for clinical applications.
