Summary: GRB10 and its family members GRB7 and GRB14 are important adaptor proteins that regulate cellular functions by interacting with tyrosine kinase receptors and other phosphorus-containing amino acid proteins. Abnormal expression of GRB10 is closely related to cancer occurrence and development. In gastric cancer, high expression of GRB10 is associated with poorer overall survival. Knockdown of GRB10 inhibits proliferation and migration ability in gastric cancer, and miR-379-5p can downregulate GRB10 expression to suppress gastric cancer development. Therefore, miR-379-5p and GRB10 are potential targets for gastric cancer treatment.

Summary: This study reveals the upregulation of ASF1b in gastric cancer tissues, which is significantly correlated with disease stage, histological grade, and prognosis. ASF1b is found to promote the proliferation, migration, and invasion of gastric cancer cells through regulation of cell cycle and the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

Summary: This research investigates the prognostic implications of KCNQ1 mRNA in gastric carcinoma (GC) using various databases. The results suggest that KCNQ1 mRNA expression is lower in GC tissue samples compared to normal counterparts and higher expression is associated with longer survival and other clinical characteristics. Additionally, KCNQ1 is involved in the metabolic process of GC.

Summary: Gastric cancer is a common primary tumor of the digestive system. The study found that overexpression of NDUFC1 in gastric cancer is associated with more severe tumor infiltrates and lymphatic metastasis. Knockdown of NDUFC1 inhibited proliferation and migration, promoted apoptosis, and may exacerbate NSCLC progression through the PI3K/Akt pathway. Targeting NDUFC1 could be a potential new approach for the treatment of gastric cancer.

Summary: In this study, we found that high expression of eIF4A1 in ccRCC is associated with poor prognosis and impaired immunity. Depletion of eIF4A1 can limit cell proliferation and migration and arrest cells in the G1 phase.

Summary: The metabolic dependencies of cancer cells can be utilized to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment. Creatine riboside (CR) is found to be associated with the risk and prognosis of lung and liver cancer. By analyzing multiomics data, CR is identified as a cancer cell-derived metabolite. Elevated levels of CR are linked to poor prognosis, dysregulation of the mitochondrial urea cycle, nucleotide imbalance, reduced immune infiltration, and aggressive tumor growth.

Summary: This study found that CIA-II is highly expressed in various tumors, including lower-grade glioma (LGG), and higher CIA-II expression in LGG patients is associated with worse prognosis. Moreover, CIA-II expression is closely related to immune cell infiltration, gene mutations, and chemotherapeutics in LGG. In vitro studies also revealed that CIA-II is strongly associated with cell proliferation in LGG. Therefore, CIA-II may serve as an independent prognostic factor and a potential therapeutic target in LGG.

Summary: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection is the main cause of gastric cancer, but other bacterial species may also play a role. This study found that the mucosal microbial community in the stomach is associated with the prognosis of gastric cancer. The abundance of Fusobacterium and Prevotella is significantly associated with worse overall survival in gastric cancer patients.
