Summary: This study investigated the effect of testicular torsion-detorsion on mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in testicular tissues. The results showed that torsion-detorsion caused mitochondrial damage and dysregulation of oxidative phosphorylation in the twisted testes. Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry analysis revealed differential expression of mitochondrial proteins after torsion-detorsion.

Summary: Dexmedetomidine (DEX) protects the liver against ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) by reducing oxidative stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS), and apoptosis. DEX increases antioxidant activity and reduces oxidative damage in BRL-3A cells. It also inhibits MAPK signaling pathway activation and ERS to prevent cell apoptosis. Animal studies confirm that DEX alleviates histopathological injury and improves liver function.

Summary: This study demonstrates that Claudin-5 plays a potential therapeutic role in acute myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury. Overexpression of Cldn5 improves cardiac function and reduces myocardial damage, while attenuating oxidative stress, inflammatory response, mitochondrial dysfunction, endoplasmic reticulum stress, energy metabolism disorder, and apoptosis. Knockdown of Cldn5 inhibits cell viability in HL-1 cardiomyocytes.

Summary: This study evaluated the therapeutic potential of ethyl pyruvate (EP) on cisplatin (CDDP)-mediated reproductive toxicity. The results showed that EP can improve CDDP-induced histopathology, restore fertility hormone levels, and reduce oxidative stress, inflammation, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and apoptosis. Furthermore, EP attenuated CDDP-induced suppression of the Nrf2 pathway. These findings suggest that EP has therapeutic effects against CDDP-induced ovotoxicity with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and Nrf2 activator activities.
