Recently, the generation and detection of circularly polarized light (CPL) have attracted much attention due to their wide applications in various optical devices and techniques. The three-dimensional chiral metamaterials have acquired a giant chiral response, but complex processes make it difficult to be integrated directly into nanophotonic devices. In this work, a type of two-dimensional CPL photodetector based on the embedding nanoelectrodes is proposed. It is shown that quantum efficiency and circular polarization dichroism for the detector can be achieved as high as 23% and 75% at the wavelengths of 1550 nm, respectively. Furthermore, the difference in photoresponsivity is 21 mA W-1.
