Summary: In this study, the drug survival rate of secukinumab for psoriasis patients was found to be within the range of real-world evidence studies from 6-18 months. Additionally, a relatively high long-term survival rate of 74.3% was observed at 24 months. Factors such as obesity and previous experience with biological therapies were associated with early treatment discontinuation, while psoriatic arthritis was associated with delayed discontinuation.

Summary: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily affects the skin, and pediatric psoriasis is associated with comorbidities such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, arthritis, and psychiatric disorders. The treatment methods for pediatric psoriasis are usually similar to those for adults, but most treatments are used off-label.

Summary: Clinical and epidemiologic data on pustular psoriasis are limited. This study investigated the phenotypes and patients' characteristics of pustular psoriasis. The results showed that pustular psoriasis is much rarer than plaque psoriasis, with palmoplantar pustulosis being the most common subtype.

Summary: This study investigated the access to pediatric emergency units by neonates with neurological conditions in three Italian hospitals. The findings showed a decrease in pediatric accesses overall, but a stable proportion of neonates accessing the emergency unit for neurological diseases. Cyanosis and apnea were the most frequent neurologic conditions observed. The study highlights the need for appropriate training to avoid unnecessary tests and to ensure early identification of potentially serious conditions.

Summary: This study found that frequent postoperative surveillance did not improve overall survival or recurrence-free survival in patients with colorectal cancer, but it did improve post-recurrence survival. Intensive surveillance was associated with improved post-recurrence survival and overall survival in high-risk patients.

Summary: The study aimed to provide real-world evidence of the effectiveness of biologics in Italian patients with moderate-severe psoriasis. Results showed that biologics were effective and well tolerated in psoriasis patients, with a high percentage of patients achieving PASI 75 at 16-52 weeks of treatment and a high sustained response rate after 1 year.

Summary: This study provides the first estimation of the proportion of patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis in Denmark who are eligible for systemic therapy but do not receive it. The results showed that a large number of patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis are candidates for systemic therapy but do not receive it. Furthermore, the study found that the time on conventional systemic therapy has become shorter and more patients are initiating biologics as second-line therapy.

Summary: This study evaluated the drug survival of antitumour necrosis factor biologics for patients with hidradenitis suppurativa in daily practice. Survival rates for adalimumab and infliximab were similar at 12 months, mainly determined by ineffectiveness. Age, disease duration (adalimumab), and surgery (infliximab) were identified as predictors for longer drug survival.

Summary: Methotrexate is an important treatment for inflammatory rheumatic diseases, especially rheumatoid arthritis. Liver toxicity is a concern for long-term methotrexate therapy, particularly in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Understanding the mechanisms of hepatotoxicity and liver fibrosis is crucial for pretreatment screening and long-term monitoring in patients with chronic liver disease.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the long-term prevalence of different associated abnormalities in patients with large segmental infantile hemangiomas of the face or neck. It was found that some patients developed late complications such as angiomatous oral mucosa, hearing loss, and otoscopic abnormalities. Furthermore, the risk of neurodevelopmental disorders and cerebellar malformations was higher in patients with hemangiomas in the S1 location, while the S3 location was associated with more progressive complications like neurovascular, cardiovascular, and ENT abnormalities. Therefore, long-term follow-up is recommended for these patients.

Summary: The relapses of psoriasis are related to T cells that reside in the skin, with the fatty acid intake capacity of tissue-resident memory T cells playing a crucial role in their function. The composition of fatty acids in the skin is linked to the functions of epidermal T cells and may affect the severity of psoriasis.
